Question: Will the week 4 Bye Give us the edge over a no-bye-yet Vandy?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Since it was 2 weeks ago I'd say no. Whatever extra energy we had from the bye week we had to use it all to get out of Athens with a win. I don't know if Vandy really minds not having a bye thus far because they're on such a roll right now that maybe they don't want anything disrupting their routine. Of course if we beat them then they'll feel exhausted, demoralized and ready for their break.

Fatigue and injuries. Their defense has a lot of dudes out. If our defense can focus just a little, like they did against GA, we can hold serve. The offense can build a lead. Time of possession will be key. Wear them down and score every series!

Gene Stallings said he never liked open weeks when the team was winning. He liked to keep that momentum rolling.

Maybe slightly but I don't think it will be that big of an edge. We already have some injuries and we clearly spent a lot of the bye week prepping for UGA.

Don't think it's that big of an advantage. The bigger edge will be Missouri having a bye right before our game while we will be coming off UGA and Vandy back to back

For exactly the reasons you cite, I’ve thought since before the season that the Mizzou game was a trap.
