Auburn Conspiracies After the Georgia Game

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

That’s why Auburn is in the shape it’s in. Threes straight bad coaching hires/retentions (should have called Malzahn’s bluff and let him take that Arkansas job), not the SEC office being in Birmingham. Not some grand conspiracy against Auburn.

I don't think they've had a good hire since they got Pat Dye. No, not even Tuberville.

I've said time and again that Auburn is an 8-4 team annually, but they get that average 8-4 in the most bizarre ways possible. aTm GENERALLY goes 8-4 every year, period. Yeah, the occasional fluff or Manziel years. But Auburn is the only one that will INCREDIBLY follow six straight seasons of AVERAGING five losses a year with an unbeaten season. Or have two straight 5-win seasons (1991 and 1992) and then run the table (1993). Or go 3-9 one year (2012) and play for the title the next (2013). There are a lot of teams that average 8-4, but only Auburn does it in that wild of a way.

Tuberville has managed to turn his sole 13-0 campaign into "he was a good coach!" But take that one year away from him and he - literally - averages 8-4 every year. I was told "you can't really count Ole Miss because he was crippled." Ok, but then doesn't the fact that Alabama, Arkansas, and Kentucky were all on probation when Tubs was at Auburn. You can't ONLY use this argument when it works in your favor. Tuberville - all things considered - was pretty successful given the limitations at Ole Miss when he took over.

Or was he? Lane Kiffin, who was considered a train wreck at one point, is doing pretty well there.

But the reality is this: Auburn will always be second banana to Alabama and nobody pretends any different. The job will ALWAYS be an uphill climb, and the days of paying under the table money to a superstar's pastor daddy are long gone. (I'm not naive enough to believe ONLY Auburn ever cheated, even in 2010, but they'll be on the losing end of NIL severely).

They will have to accept the fact that they're a long-term 8-4 team annually with the occasional one-loss season.

if they don't win 3 more games for the rest of the year, they are looking at 5 consecutive losing season with three coming from the good Rev!

That’s not really how it works though…
17-0 @ the 1/2 would’ve been a brutal mountain to climb…especially while still under 100 total yards.
Momentum and voodoo may have changed the outcome dramatically…not may have, would have.

A year ago we went up 28-0 on them and it didn't demoralize them...

“See here…those dang refs and the SEC office in Birmingham convinced one of our team captains to quit”.

Alston says he quit. The Right Reverend says he was dismissed. Six of one, half dozen of another.

But seriously, it ain’t a good look when the guy leaving is one of your team captains.

If anyone is in the mood for a buffet of melty goodness, check out the Barner Fambly board about their captain leaving/kicked out. About 500 posts on this thread in less than a day. :p

Wow! A lot of roasting over there.

This is the kid's last season of eligibility. He is trying to save it (either there or elsewhere). A full season as a starter would go a long ways to increasing his NFL worth.

They are basically running the kid off, when it may be his intent to return.

He will probably be better off portaling out in January.

Maybe a rumor will surface concerning Arkansas having interest in him. We all know what they do when that happens.
I mean wouldn’t that be the most JABA (Just Auburn Being Auburn) thing ever? Better yet, they decide to fire Freeze, decide to try to wake the dead by going after Motorcycle Bobby Petrino and get in bidding war with Arkansas?

Auburn has been recipient of so many bizarre plays over the years they have no room to complain. There was a segment on this before the game Saturday.

If they want to leave the conference, let them go. Good riddance. Where else could they go that would match the SEC revenue?

The point someone above made about them needing 3 more wins before bowl eligibility....The schedule:

I can see two - Kentucky and Mercer. No doubt. And that 3rd win needed? Really could come from anything remaining on the schedule. Arkansas with all likelihood, but don't bet on it....Vanderbilt, well, it's at Nashville. Going to be tough. Missouri, this coming weekend, is at home and at night. Missouri's first road game this SEASON....Who knows....

Alabama.......We know that this game is terminally "circled" for them, their fans, coaches. We also know it's at their place. And, no matter the time of start (2:30 or later), it will be ending in cover of darkness.

They really did luck out with their schedule. While they've already played OU and Texas A&M, dropping both, and just lost to UGA, the back of their schedule, with Kentucky, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt, was drawn up intentionally to be weak. And it is. Even Vandy, who we last saw losing to Alabama in a tough game, may not be able to overcome that disappointment.

If Fightin' Freezes lose out the next four out of five, with a voodoo a win against us, they won't be handing Hugh his hat this year. And forget them leaving the conference. They couldn't afford the cut in pay, wherever they would wind up. JMHO.

Things have changed. They lose at home to Missouri Saturday and a lot of their guys may start making business decisions. And as the list of open coaching jobs that are better than theirs stack up, it may force an early decision on Freeze.

Personally, I think they are better than their record would lead you to believe, but in the NIL world it is probably harder than ever to keep players working in a season that is circling the drain.

Did it ever dawn on any Auburn fans who post this conspiracy nonsense that the SEC office and well, EVERYONE has much better things to do than to worry about Auburn athletics?
