Freeze fired at the Barn

I grew up in the Ole Miss fan base(my Dad was an alum). I think Auburn is reaping the bad karma that they deserve, going back to the way the Tommy Tuberville hire was done. I lived in Alabama for most of the 1990s, and I agree with you. Their paranoia over Bama is pathological.

I worked with an accountant in Dothan who told me that when he would never drive thru Birmingham, would go out of his way to not drive thru Birmingham....simply because the Iron Bowl was played there for decades, and Auburn fans said that was a home game for Bama.

They were/are really in a jam.

They HAD to fire Freeze but this is also going to be the worst and most competitive HC market maybe ever to try and get someone.

Every school is going to have to make a reach and overpay and negotiate massive buyouts.

It’s a Shame this happened.

I think the LSU and AU situations put us in a good place.
The emotion has had time to wear down for LSU and AU and my bet is that players will be making business decisions.
I think we win those games is decent shape and I think we take care of OU, especially with that one being at home.
Just win out and handle business in the SECCG and we'll be in good playoff shape.
Easier said than done..........

Everyone saw this coming. Freeze has been terrible. Freeze is 15-19 in 2.5+ seasons, and he has yet to produce a winning season on the plains. This season would have marked 3 losing seasons in 3 years. The barn hasn't had a winning season since COVID! :D They have lost 7 games in each of the last 4 seasons, and they will probably get to 7 loses again this season. Haha! :D

Now they're in competition with at least two programs that are demonstrably more desirable than they are -- Penn State and Florida. If LSU wasn't as dysfunctional as they are with internecine skulduggery, they'd be in that list as well.

But the barn has its own internecine skullduggery, so maybe that offsets and puts LSU in the category of being a better job.

Some people think I'm crazy when I say the Auburn fanbase is pretty much a cult. But stuff like this is exactly what I'm talking about. Many of them are looney tunes crazy.
