My favorite Jack’s story. Stopped in at the one in Athens, AL to grab some lunch. I ordered the chicken snack with a breast and a wing. When the order came it was a “thigh and wing”. The lady manager quickly corrected the order stating “we have a new group of young guys that just started. Sometimes they get confused and don’t know the difference between a breast and a thigh”

Without thinking I responded “If they ever get married, the honeymoon could be a huge disappointment for the new bride….”

The little old lady just grinned and gave me a knowing little nod….

The best thing at Jack's is the Blue Bell Ice Cream shakes. I got addicted to Blue Bell in Texas many years ago.

This commercial is worse than the old Jim skinner Ford ads in the 80s and 90s

As a side gig, I do some commercials and print ads. I once did one for a certain REGIONal bank, and it was Scott Cochran running a gym workout for a bunch of dudes (I was one of them). They didn't have fake weight-plates, so I commenced to doing my bench-press thing.

Little did I know that Coach Cochran would require so many takes to hit his marks, with me, in the background, lifting repeatedly. OMG, my arms were not the same after that afternoon. I wasn't maxing out, by no means, but come on...I'm GOING TO USE the 45lb plates for aesthetics, right? Cochran was super cool, but the production guys directing him was exhausting.

I love the Milk Chocolate, but sometimes it's very hard to find anywhere. They seem to have gotten better about it, though. The Dutch Chocolate can be had anywhere, but I'm not a fan.

I do not live in Alabama either but my parents still do (90's). I was home in Florence last week to take my parents to doctor appointments and etc...My first cousins and a group of friends get together weekly at the Jack's on Florence Blvd. going into town to play dominoes. Long story short, I ordered the Big Jack combo meal and it was not bad. I always have to bring my parents the hot apple pies from Jack's. They make them way McDonalds did back in the 60's and 70's.

I guess Freeze will not be going "back back back toJack's Jack's Jack's for more more more?"

Jack's is ok & I love their gravy n biscuits, buttttt, i miss having a Hardee's here in the Anniston area & wish they'd come back..

I loved their char-broil hamburgers & they had awesome gravy n biscuits as well..Their fried chicken was really good as well or Hardee's used too be good anyways..

I wouldn't know they've been gone about 10yrs now in our area..

Funny... The last time I ate Jack's was for the Gravedigger Iron Bowl, ran over the Sheffield to watch with Mom and Dad. Mom sent me to pick them up!
