Yes, rebuilding. This team lacked mental toughness and discipline last year, which seems to be improving this year because the penalties are much lower.

The defense is getting better, and the line play has improved as the year has gone on.

The offensive line is still in shambles. Our best lineman is an undersized PAC12 center who has more fundamental technique than the rest of them combined. Our best receivers came with DeBoer, they weren’t on the roster when DeBoer got here.

Yes, the team was in decline, can you prove otherwise, or are you just here to whine?

Watching Georgia begin to manhandle Texas late in the fourth quarter. And while Sark has SEC experience as an OC, I can’t help but think he “cut his teeth” as West Coast guy. And he shares a common thread with CKD. Both were the HC at Washington at some point.

Texas will now drop its third game of the year (tOSU, Florida, UGA) with Arkansas and TAMU left on the schedule. And Texas played with fire in other games throughout the season, eerily similar to some of our games this year.

By all accounts Texas has recruited well, been successful in the portal and has NIL coffers better than most.

So why are they sitting at three losses with a highly probable fourth loss coming in two weeks?

IMO? Basically the offensive philosophy of Sark and CKD are very similar. And the difference has been more consistent with QB play (Ty versus Arch). Sark, even with SEC experience under his belt as an OC, still hasn’t learn that physical play is still the hallmark of this conference. You still need to line up and whip the other guy across the LOS at some point.

And I think that CKD and Grubb better learn that lesson pretty quick

Yes, the difference was that one was committed on BAMA, and the other one was committed by BAMA>

Yes, I blame Saban for the state in which he left the program. He’s still the greatest coach to ever walk the sidelines, but with his age and the implementation of NIL he left Alabama in a tough spot, one they haven’t recovered from yet.

If you can’t see inside that title win against Georgia and not realize that Alabama was fortunate to win, I can’t help you. Kirby did what Kirby does against Alabama, inexplicably bad preparation and execution, with some questionable decisions mixed in.

This year is Sark’s worst rushing team in his coaching career.

I think he learned the lesson, he’s just got to retool his line.

Which in my mind begs the question “just how bad is our oline play, particularly in the run game?” If Texas’s is “bad” how much worse is ours?

Alabama doesn’t get the luxury of an Ohio State or Indiana type schedule especially when we keep facing teams coming off bye weeks. And now the SEC thinks we’re better off moving to a nine game conference schedule next year.

I will say that, this year in particular, the top teams in the B1G definitely have what appears to be very easy schedules, with any tougher games sprinkled here and there. Outside of Oregon, I don't think Indiana has played a ranked team. Meanwhile, the SEC is still a gauntlet.

OSU plays neither Oregon or IU.....IU plays only Oregon....that's it..Oregon has IU and USCw...that's it...you cant count Illinois and Meatcheating....but they are ranked....but not all 3 play them...its schedule gerrymandering ! lol

I'd love to see another angle on the pick six. It looks like we were running a slant, but I've heard our receiver got knocked off the route by the OU defender. In my mind, shouldn't that have been PI. As said, I've heard that but I haven't seen a replay that would verify it. Anybody have a better view?

Sarkisian can’t hold DeBoer’s jock as a HC - IMO, Sarkisian is simply mediocre or a little better. CKD has beaten him both times he’s faced him, likely with less overall talent.

Many are trashing the OL but it is at least decent in pass pro. The RBs and Ty holding the ball too long probably cause more of the issues than the OL. (IMO, overall Ty has been great this year and is still playing well even at his worst. He is the primary reason for Alabama’s success.) DeBoer stated the obvious again post game that Ty has to get rid of the ball quicker. He needs to drop back and let it rip like vs UGA. If there is no one open just throw it away. CKD has mentioned this multiple times this year.

This is true especially when you are facing a top DL like Mizz, USCe or OU.

So for some reason in a post game Oklahoma thread two years after Coach Saban has left the program, there is a need to discuss how Saban left the program in “shambles?” A program he left with the more talent than anyone else, and was a play away from playing for the national title? Am I understanding this correctly?

Holding it too long.....are there quick outlets, quick hitches or just longer developing plays....we have gone away from moving the chains with short throws and runs after the catch...we were very effective at that early season. We don't stretch the field with toss plays or quick outs, sweep etc..we put Ty in the pocket and that's it...they know where to pressure...Grubb needs to be less predictable
