Bama vs Oklahoma round 2 (Friday December 19th)

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) unit is a small device that uses low-voltage electrical currents delivered through electrodes placed on the skin to provide pain relief by blocking pain signals to the brain or stimulating the body's release of natural painkillers (endorphins). It works by sending gentle impulses along nerves, essentially "scrambling" or overwhelming the pain signals with sensory input, offering relief for conditions like chronic back pain, arthritis, and nerve pain.
They certainly work as well. That, and my new favorite, PEMF mat really does a job for healing the body.

The OL has not been as bad as you are implying. Prior to the AU game Alabama was the 5th best team in the SEC in “sacks allowed per pass attempt”. (It’s probably worse now since the AU and UGA games have been played since I last checked.) And that’s having played most of the best pass rushing teams in the SEC: Mizz, USC, OU, AU. Most QBs are under pressure in the SEC.
I'm just not supposed to believe my lying eyes. I understand a sack statistic and the fact that the QB is being pressured constantly and getting hit very regularly. I rewound multiple plays in both the IB and SECCG and watched free rushers or missed blocks affect Ty over and over.

This OL made the next the last cut for the Joe Moore Best OL in the country award.
Yep, and the exotic blitzes will continue in this game. We need renewed effort from everyone in the trenches as well by the RBs. Some quick hitters, shovel pass or a slant or two would be a nice change of pace. Just need to mix it up and keep the D guessing. But again, need to execute.

To your point, no doubt Ty has been under fire and is beat up like others, but most here unfairly critique the OL, IMO.
IMO a 1 dimensional offense makes it much easier on the defense to tee up on the line.
When there is no threat of running the ball it makes the Defense's job much easier.

Works for me! Whatever it was, it was very large

So that means you just aren't going to watch? That is 100% front-runner mentality. That is what I don't understand. I understand that we are decimated by injuries and the offense isn't clicking. We win the next two and I guarantee you will be back in front of the TV for the semis.
I was on a cruise during the SECCG and I realized I had absolutely no reaction after seeing the score. This year is just full of wasted opportunities. Add in the fact that our schedule is so unbelievably difficult, yet teams like Indiana can literally have a two-game season, and I just don’t care anymore.

Yes, and the other SEC QBs are facing the same thing. It seems that the OC could help more. Also, the RBs are responsible for some of the sacks. Finally, Ty occasionally drifts back in the pocket too far and sometimes holds on to the ball too long. OTOH, Ty is clever and elusive in the pocket.

SEC QBs probably face the fiercest pass rushes in the country. Many other teams’ QB get bounced around too. The SEC probably has the most elusive set of QBs in the country: Ty, Stockton, Reed, Chambliss, Mateer, Manning, Aguilar, Pribula, Green, Pavia, Daniels, Sellers, et al.

Sometimes lately Ty gets outfoxed when changing plays and shifting the protections. Like others have said, going up tempo and sticking with the call would avoid some of the play calling tricks OU employs.

When you know they are going to lose not watching the loss for your own sanity and blood pressure is ok. I've been a Bama fan my whole life, but I've learned it's best for me to not watch some games. I get to into it and get frustrated to the point it's not good. If that's your situation then stepping back and having some perspective is reasonable. This is especially true with DVR being so easy. You can always watch later. It doesn't make you less of a fan. It just means you know yourself.
That’s what I did last time we played them — DVR’d it, looked up the outcome when it was over, then watched it to see where we dropped the ball — literally.

I love cruises. I went on one this summer and it was the best vacation my wife and I had ever been on. That is completely different, in my opinion. I hope you had a blast.

Though not predicted to be very cold; high 40's, the wind is predicted to be 16, gusting to 35mph. That could be a problem for our passing centric offense?? not to mention our "kicking" game

OU had 3 weeks off. I fully expect a lot of stuff we haven’t seen before from the OU offense. I really expect a lot more designed QB runs. It’s the playoffs, no reason to save your QB now, and he is a dual threat QB. Venables alluded to this in an interview, the same way Kirby brought up special team plays before the SECCG. I just hope for once our staff is paying attention.
Three weeks of breaking down our offense, studying the many weaknesses. There is a huge advantage for OU getting healthy and not playing in the conference championship game.

What is the deal with Damien Harris?

I’m not siding with Harris, but the article is ridiculous. Yes, Alabama lost 40 players to the portal after Saban left, but pillaged? C’mon. They still had the second most talent ever assembled by a college football team . Second only to the year before . All, of course using the 247 total team talent metric. Everyone was disappointed in the 2024 team. And there are signs of some of the same mistakes made by the coaching staff, but there are also signs of improvement .

I agree - just looking at total sacks isn't close to the full picture. For example, we allowed 2 sacks against USC, but ELEVEN pressures. That's on 43 attempts, so USC was getting pressure on over 28% of the pass plays.
