This is so true. I wonder sometimes why people want to live that way?
TIFWIW but Coach Saban is one of the most critical/negative human beings that has ever walked this Earth. If you made a tackle but used improper form, he wasn't happy. If you threw a touchdown but made the wrong read, he wasn't happy. If you were on staff and he heard you laughing in your office, he would chew you out (was directly told this by one of his former Defensive Coordinators). Some of you can live in the "sit back and trust this staff" world if you would like but as for me I need to start seeing results.

That's fine and maybe it shakes out like that in the end but jeesh, why don't all you guys actually let the process play out? Let's see if the team gets worse next year. We have no idea. We have no idea who they end up with in the portal. All any of you know right now is that they have lost more guys than they have signed. Literally, that's all anyone knows RIGHT NOW. IT'S NOT OVER YET.

I literally just want them to be better next year. I don't care how they get there. New assistant coaches, new players from the portal, recruits, guys that improved dramatically in the offseason. If they aren't better next year, then I am ready to move on from DeBoer.
To borrow the context another poster used, I understand the logic. But it's kind of like saying wait until the season is over to comment about how the team is playing.

It's true, we don't really know mid-season what the team will finish like. But, we're still going to comment and say they look good, or they look bad. As Breeze said that's passion, that's what fans do.

We're not trying to make people feel bad, we're just being fans and explaining our perspectives. That's what forums are for, we're not in charge of anything, just discussing.

I want the staff to succeed, I want people here to have a good time. I'm just an honest guy discussing something I care about.

Anyway, to the portal itself this one is interesting:

He's from an FCS team, so just a depth piece or may be a sleeper addition. He could be a use of one of those extra scholarship slots, can't think he's getting any NIL money though.

He apparently moved from the DL to the OL, he also was on the U18 UK basketball team. So he's a good athlete but very raw. He says he has 3 years of eligibility left.

If Coach Kap is still making offers, chances are he's not going anywhere!

I actually have a bit of a theory about this, and it's a bit odd but I started thinking about it when there were some rumors about Missouri's offensive line coach who also had previous experience as a run coordinator.

Last season when DeBoer wanted Grubb back, he made room not by firing Sheridan but by shifting his position (very expensive keep, 1.5 million). I think that's in play here. People say Kap is a great recruiter, just everything else not so much. So I think it's possible DeBoer shifts his roles and brings in someone else to work on the run game and development of the offensive line.

Now that might be harder with Kap, since the roles he's filled have been assistant head coach, run game coordinator, offensive line, but I do get the sense DeBoer wants to keep him around. With no hard cap on staff, it's possible he adds a new coach but retains him. We'll see.

Man…the negativity is brutal, over and over…
the negativity is coming from the usual suspects. its a message board so we are all entitled to speak our mind within limits of course. I have refrain myself repeatedly to hold my tongue regarding the gloom and doom crowd just because its a waste of time and breath. it's not that serious for me to stress or be overly concerned about things I can't control. it's just a game and we as fans have fun mulling over our beloved football program, but at the end of the day, we don't have any more say or decision making as the next guy.
it's going to be a long off season so sit back and take in all the things that will transpire withing Bama football before kickoff in the fall.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

So maybe we should put the pitchforks down for a bit?

Im just leaving this here for consideration. Check the number of tackles and rushes.. I checked and on average rugby players make 60-100k...

Major League Rugby All First Team
Not rugby related, but when the Browns drafted Lofa Tatupu at LB from USC, they put a clause in his contract saying he can't hunt for boar in Hawaii (where he's from). Evidently, he and his buddies would hunt boar by one of them spooking the pig, and Lofa tackling the boar and cutting the neck to kill it.

Maybe we need more Samoans that hunt wild boars?

If you didn't do a proper Gatorade bath after winning a national championship, CNS wasn't happy. See the difference in response from 2009 and 2011.

May be Alabama is slow walking things because they know they screwed up in the portal last year, so they're trying to be really, really, really deliberate and are going to close strong because they have this plan it's just very slow to unfold because they don't want to make any mistakes.

I sincerely hope that's true, but I do not think it's out of line for me to say I'm concerned.
Shall we wait and see? 🤔
