Trump's Policies XI

Steve Bannon says ICE will ‘surround the polls’ as Trump doubles down on taking over elections

Steve Bannon said Tuesday that the federal government is planning to send Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to patrol polling stations during this year’s midterm elections.

“We’re going to have ICE surround the polls come November,” Bannon, a former senior advisor to President Donald Trump and still a figure of influence in the administration, said on Tuesday’s episode of his War Room podcast, addressing Democrats. “We’re not going to sit here and allow you to steal the country again. And you can whine and cry and throw your toys out of the pram all you want, but we will never again allow an election to be stolen.”

Bannon’s comments came just a day after Trump said he believes that Republicans should “nationalize voting,” escalating concerns that the president is plotting to interfere in this year’s midterm elections.

In a radio interview on The Dan Bongino Show Monday, Trump struck a similar note to Bannon, framing voting itself as corrupt and claimed elections were stolen from him.

“These people were brought to our country to vote and they vote illegally. Amazing that the Republicans aren’t tougher on it,” Trump falsely claimed. “The Republicans should say, we want to take over. We should take over the voting, the voting in at least many, 15 places. The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting.”

Trump doubled down on his comments to nationalize voting Tuesday during an Oval Office press conference.

“If you think about it, a state is an agent for the federal government in elections,” Trump said. “I don’t know why the federal government doesn’t do them anyway.”

I'm beginning to think he has not read much

Donald Trump has managed to make George W. Bush look like an ivory tower intellectual, and I assure you I did not have THAT on my 21st century Bingo card.

Remember, he didn't even know the state where the Kansas City Chiefs played their home games.
Didn't know what Pearl Harbor was.

I'm amazed he hasn't appointed a task force to find out "who let the dogs out."

Translation not needed.

They're only honest if I win. I'm a winner, so I can't lose.

As a reminder, Donald Trump is the biggest loser in the history of American politics.

He lost the popular vote. Twice.
He lost the House (likely to be twice this year).
He lost the Senate.
He SOMEHOW managed to help lose a SENATE SEAT IN ALABAMA of all places to a Democrat.
He lost 60 plus lawsuits trying to overturn the 2020 election results.
He lost in court to E. Jean Carroll.
He lost his "pro" football team when his lawsuit idea to force an NFL merger backfired (but he'll tell you he "won" the lawsuit, by which he means, "I sued for 1.69 BILLION and they gave me $3")
He lost the Trump Shuttle.
He lost two marriages.
He lost to a nursing home patient in a high turnout election.

Sure, he won in 2024.

Oh, they will make all kind of wild claims about finding votes cast by non citizens and dead people even though the ballots are not tied back to anyone's name. In reality, there is no way to determine who cast which vote.
Which is why security is so important. There is no real way to "audit" a vote because all you can really check is that the ballots on hand were tabulated correctly. Not much of an audit LOL. The real fraud, if any, would happen during the actual "vote", when the ballot is being collected and delivered to the election authorities, whether that be in person via a voting machine (not really concerned here) or via mail-in ballots (big concern here).

In the Florida 2000 debacle, the Miami Herald - and this is why I hate what has largely disappeared off the web over the years, I was following that daily - uncovered something along the lines of 200 people who voted "illegally" and about 3/4 of them were registered Democrats. (This is where I laugh my ass off when someone tries to say, "But we don't know who they voted for" when that election had more of the BASE voting for their party than almost any election in history).

But MOST of the cases were situations where someone was a convicted felon, no longer in prison, and they didn't know Florida law on that subject (in some states, once your sentence ends you can vote again). I don't think anyone was ever prosecuted for it by the Jeb Bush administration because these were understandable fluffs. There were six cases of someone voting twice, most of them stemming from someone not getting an absentee ballot what they felt was "on time" so they went and voted on Election Day and there was crossover in the timing. Again - easily discovered.

That there are fraudulent votes cast in every election - by the letter of the law - is indisputable. What has never been established and even Mongo himself knows is the idea of millions of created fake ballots or millions of fake voters.

As I've said for years, the Democratic Party as a whole drops the ball on this because instead of thinking smartly they run the only play in their playbook, "That's racist." One of these prosecutors need to act like one and verbally deck the next Republican who goes this route and ask for a SPECIFIC CASE. As I've said previously, I've been registered in red and blue states and ALWAYS had to show my driver's license to get a ballot. And to register. But Klobuchar or one of the former prosecutors (Kamala Harris was but to say she's mentally incapable of doing this is an understatement) needs to follow up the "widespread fraud" claim with "name one" and when they can't, needs to leave him standing in his own juice with, "You said widespread fraud and then you can't even name one case of what YOU claim is happening all over the place." Follow this up with a citation of TRUMP VOTERS who have been found guilty of fraud, bury them in the facts of the Trump hired recount crews, and close it out with a pithy and memorable phrase tested in a focus group that says something along the lines of, "He said it's all over the place, but he can't name one. It's invisible, like his healthcare plan, his budget plan, and his plan to end school shootings."

(It's long past time Democrats think they're arguing like they're students of John Houseman in The Paper Chase). Mix the elitist point with gut level punching that ridicules.

You know, like Bill Clinton would do.

"I've heard of deathbed conversions but this is ridiculous" he said when GHW Bush essentially co-opted one of his themes.

I see why security is important. I fail to see how anyone can believe that ICE's presence will supply security.

Today, he was surprised that Powell was appointed as Fed chair, he was so terrible, totally forgetting the HE was the one who appointed Powell. If poor old Joe had made a faux pas like that, everyone would be pointing at it as proof of his incompetence. These days, it was hardly a burp in the press...

President Trump calls Thomas Massie a "moron" at the National Prayer Breakfast.

"There's something wrong with him. We call him Rand Paul Jr. They love voting NO."

Such a classy guy. And the National “Prayer” Breakfast is nothing more than a Trump rally these days.

Massie has Dual Degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from MIT

I mean LMAO at this Orangatang Dunce.

It would be the pot calling the kettle black if he wasn’t so horribly wrong.

Crazy projection as usual.
