BREAKING Ty Declaring for NFL Draft

An update on that…. Senior Steelers insider indicates that under no circumstance will the Steelers draft a quarterback in the top 2 rounds because they don’t see anyone outside of Mendoza as a top 2 worthy quarterback. This is even with the unknown Rodgers decision. They seem content with Will Howard potentially being the guy down the line
And the Steelers wonder why they're stuck in the rut they've been in. They'd be an idiot not to take Simpson and give him a shot. Simpson grades no worse than Jaxson Dart did when he was drafted in the first round. I bet the Steelers wished they had Dart.

2011 was pretty bad.

We actually won't know if this year is weak for a few years. Who knows this could be a year that surprises everyone

The problem and hard part about drafting is pre-draft assessments. Look at Jaxon Dart. He was "projected" to be an early second round pick and it was considered a "reach" for the Giants to draft him where they did in the first round. But now that he's played, was it really a "reach"? Cam Ward, the number one overall pick looks more like a reach right now than Dart.

“ESPN's Dan Orlovsky said on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that multiple general managers he spoke to agreed that Alabama's Ty Simpson is the best quarterback in the draft class.

"I probably texted 12 to 15 general managers, decision-making coaches in the NFL, the very simple text of 'Ty Simpson is QB1 in this class, or the best quarterback in this class,' and two people got back to me with a disagreement," Orlovsky said

“Ty Simpson Reportedly Backed by 10+ GMs as 2026 NFL Draft's QB1 Over Fernando Mendoza”

Going to the Jets would be like going to Cleveland.
This is easy for me to say since my best athletic days are long behind me, but given the historical ineptitude of Cleveland and NYJ in the NFL, I would hope I wouldn't go those places as a QB. Maybe Ty takes the Sam Darnold route: get drafted by NYJ, perform badly due to how poorly constructed the team is, and get a 2nd life elsewhere. But in the end, as a QB, I wouldn't want to go to Cleveland or NY.
