New Defensive Line Coach from Sooners

This has happened in some capacity in all the big three sports, and it has promoted a more offensive game in each one. With basketball, there's no more handchecking, no more "physical defense" allowed. In baseball, you can't throw up and in or even hardly inside on batters anymore without getting a warning, then an ejection. Ronnie Lott couldn't play in today's NFL.
Hand checking physical defense in basketball is still allowed when you play Alabama...

I just read on another site that Jarrett Johnson has been hired to work with the DL.

Can't confirm if this is true or not, but if so, that would be a good add, considering Roach is often thought to be a better recruiter than coach.

I don't know if Johnson is coming to Tuscaloosa or not.

Did a quick Google on him and didn't find where he's done anything football-related since he retired from the NFL after the 2014 season. Really didn't find where he's done much of anything at all.

He was certainly a tough guy with a motor that never stopped. A huge over-achiever in his college days and made himself into a long-term NFL player. Whether he's ready to be a DL coach at Alabama, I don't know. Maybe learn the coaching ropes as an analyst?

As of now, I doubt it too. It was posted on another paid site, but since then there's been no chatter. I figure X would have picked it up if it were true.

Can't read it, but does it say he's going to help coach DL too???
I wonder if you can be a GA if you're still working on your undergraduate degree?

Johnson has all the intangibles. I'd love to have him involved in some way -- GA, analyst, something. I'm just not sure he's ready to be a position coach in the SEC.

Yeah, in whatever way, get him on the field/booth to see what is happening.

His intangibles/experience/ideas should be fully welcomed by anyone in T-town!!!
