A second-string quarterback for three seasons after transferring from Miami, Guillon left Alabama midway through the 2006 season.

"I'll tell you what I told him. He plays favorites, which created a non-competitive environment within the program," Guillon said in a phone interview. "Halfway through the season, we weren't getting good play from the (quarterback) position, and it was quite evident to me at that point that I didn't want to be associated with a coach or a man like that."

Has this kid ever watched himself on tape??? When he had the chance to shine, he flopped all over the field like a fish out of water. His comments have no signifigance to me.

"We weren't getting good play from the (quarterback) position" He ought to go check JPW's numbers. MG is not qualified to hold JPW jock strap. He proved that here in '04 and at Miami. When was the last time Miami had a good QB??
However, there may be some truth to the "non-competitive environment within the program" part.

:conf3: Boo Hoo! Good grief, this guy! Geeesh...I can't wait to see what JPW does when we get "good quarterback play". Maybe he'll break his own record for most passing yards in a season and break that TD record that he tied.

Sounds to me like MG's evaluation skills would allow him to be a great OL understudy w/ Connelly.

Folks, don't be deceived...that part of what he's saying is true. Sadly enough, some of the players you hear talking are part of that "favorite group."

When Brodie was on campus he used to show up late to all the meetings...other players would, and then get chewed out by Shula. Never happened to Brodie.

So, what did they do? Showed up late, but made sure they were walking in with Brodie...literally daring Shula to say something.

I can't blame them. You couldn't count on two hands and your toes the times Shula had meetings set, sometimes with our leadership guys/seniors, and didn't show up as well.

Again, discipline problems leading to other problems...

He is right about the staff playing favorites - duhhh like we did not know that. The fact remains he is still a punk. He should not have waited until now to express himself. If he had something to say he should have let'er rip when he quit the team. You know let it all out, if not have a BIG Cup of Shut Up, MARC. :BigA:

"It's not so much the quarterback," Johnson said. "It don't matter who the quarterback is if you don't block the right people."

Anyone who watched at least half of the games this season could kind of tell that Shula was playing favorites alot. That was just pretty obvious.

As for MG, I think he is way too proud of his ( non ) accomplishments. If he were all that good he would have been a starter at Miami ( which begs to question why we ever picked him up to start with ) and wouldn't have had to deal with Shula at all.

MG really just needs to shut up. As far as his burning bridges, I really don't care who he knows he's just not tallented enough to get to the next level.

Roll Tide !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what who's QB play MG is talking about, but if he is talking about JPW he has obviously been smoking something. JPW was outstanding this year.

As for his comments about, "I didn't want to be associated with a coach or a man like that", I don't think Alabama football wants to be associated with a punk like MG. I am not disputing Terry P's comments at all. He is obviously much more in the know than me and the discipline problems have been well documented, but MG has always come across as self-centered and immature IMO.

This is something to which I've been pointing all season. If there is no respect and discipline, you have no foundation on which to build. This is true of any organization - sports, business or otherwise.

While his "play favorites" comment is dead on, his "not getting good play" comment reveals how delusional this guy really is. He really does believe he's better than everyone on the field, and he went so far as to fake an injury to try and preserve that image in his own mind.

With discipline, anything is possible. Without it, nothing is possible.

He really needs to keep quiet. His remarks could affect his career somewhere down the road.

what career? this guy's done! He couldn't make it at Miami and he couldn't make it at Bama. He's the Francione type, jump ship when things get tough or when something else looks better. Guillon has no loyalty to anything whatsoever and I think this comment shows a severe lack of charachter on his part. There is no way Guillon would make it as a starting QB at a major D-1 school. Now he's bitter and since Shula got fired he figures it's the perfect time for him to take out his bitterness on Shula. Here's to you Marc Guillon, for kicking a man that gave you a shot while he's down....punk
