Re: What is N1UA doing going to Lakeland?

One of the best football coaches in the world lives in Lakeland.

Bill Castle of the LHS Dreadnaughts, they have NOT lost a game since before the Dead Sea got sick.

I know we are NOT after him, but he is darn fine coach.

Do yall remember Rod Smart ("He Hate Me")? He played for Castle at LHS.:BigA: :BigA: :BigA: :BigA:

Coach Mal Moore on a Plane for Columbia???

I am a Bama Fan that lives in Greenville, SC - I am actually on the Board of the UAAA (www.UpstateBama.com) - So I am not posting this just making something up out of the blue... in the past 2 hours I have gotten 5 phone calls from various SC & Clemson fans saying that the word is out... Coach Mal Moore is in a plane headed for Columbia with an offer to Steve Spurrier with part of the deal being that Steve had to give an answer before the end of today.

I do not know if this is the truth, but I am finding it odd that I have had numerous calls from various people sharing this same info. It could be the power of a fast spreading rumor, or it could be the truth. I guess only time will tell. Just thought everyone would like to know what everybody is saying here in the state of South Carolina. ROLL TIDE FOREVER!!!!!

tracked by whom? i assume the internet? how do you go about having a plane that is untrackable? just curious.
I meant to answer this earlier today and quickly got sidetracked.

All flights that are flying under an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) plan are tracked when they are in controlled airspace. Some flights can be made under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Those are not tracked by the FAA (though the FAA does have control over them).

Jets and most turbo prop aircraft fly under IFR plans, almost exclusively.

Taking a VFR flight in a high profile coaching search would raise more suspicion than it would avoid.

Just checked and there are no flights from TCL or BHM to Columbia in progress, completed within the last 3 days or scheduled to be in progress for the next several hours (at least 3).

Sorry.

Okay - my flight out of O'Hare was cancelled, then the nexy flight that I was booked on was cancelled - now every flight out of O'Hare to Philly is cancelled. Another bad day at O'Hare. This is the worst airport in the country...

Gee. There's no reason for anyone in Tuscaloosa (forecast high for Saturday 57 degrees) to go to Miami (forecast high for Saturday 84 degrees). Especially not on a weekend.

Quick notes on watching planes:

1. We're not going to send a King Air (or anything less for that matter) to pick up our next head coach. Look for Bryant Jr's plane to be used only when the UA jet doesnt have the range to make the flight non-stop (this is why Price flew in on Bryant's jet but Shula came in on 1UA). We'll send 1UA or 75TP.

2. NONE of our current candidates are going to interview tonight or tomorrow. They are all involved with games.

3. With Neinas involved, we're not going to have the same process as we had before. There's going to be nobody until there's THE candidate, and it's going to look much more like the Fran situation than anything else. There's going to be ONE flight to get ONE coach, bring him in for an "interview" and he'll be announced as the coach that same day.

4. When they do get a candidate, you're going to know who it is far in advance of the jet moving around.
