All of you posters who bashed Mal Moore and blamed him for everything wrong with Alabama football should apologize here. Mal wanted to hold out for Saban in the first place but some didn't have his confidence. Overall he has done an admirable job under very difficult circumstances and he deserves our respect. Whatever you say about Mal you can't say that he doesn't love Alabama.

You've got to give him credit for pulling this off, however it happened.

You beat me to it - I told TP I was going to start this thread today if CNS came to Bama. All the CMM bashers better step up and apologize now - the only thing they could ever complain about has been rectified and was done in STUNNING fashion.

I've never bashed him.. but I also never applauded him either because I really did not know the extent of his duties .... but now I know... he's alright I guess .. :biggrin:
 
I think what he was being bashed for was largely fair; however, he has delivered in this case and should be given credit with the same fervor.
 
Good job mm even though i probably bashed you somewhere along the line. Now that it's all over i believe nic made the first move and landed in mm lap, that's why shula didn't get his last year.
 
I'm lovin how Mal is takin the NYY approach and just spendin a lot of $$$ to getr the best.....bc we deserve the best ROLLLLLLL TIDE EVERYONE!!!!

I would agree with this.

At the same time, not only am I happy that we got Saban, I am also happy that Mal, having swung for the fences every time out, has finally gone yard. :biggrin2:
 
No way. He didn't do a good job. When it comes down to it, we just had a job that Saban wanted and Mal Moore's only way to sell it to him was to give him everything he wanted. Hell, if he could have given CNS stock options in the University he would.

Do you really think he handled the CRR situation well?

Mal did everything right in hindsight-- HE tried to get RR at a bargain-- which would have been great-- at least he didnt make RR the highest paid coach in football-- im sure RR would have taken that offer. he could have gotten a lot of coaches in the 1-2 million dollar range-- but in stead he got us the best coach that we could afford-- and apparently we can afford a lot.

he made the right decision hiring shula-- he made the right decision firing shula
now instead of kicking field goals maybe we can score some points next year

Folks, I bashed him, but not on the boards, out of respect for the mods. I thought he had done a bad job as a boss, but I thought he had done a LOT for Bama. Now, he has a newfound respect from me. Mal has proven me wrong and I'm going to go to that crow recipie thread and I may have to use it. I'm so excited right now yall!!!
