Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

Things that come to mind are; Stiff arm, Size, Speed, Hands, and the fact that we need this player and we must get this player.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

Can't wait for next year, he's been working hard and I don't doubt he will improve. He was a bit frustrated after the Prattville game, some in himself it's pushing him a bit harder.

It's gonna be interesting to say the least.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

That lad can flat wriggle out of tackles. His speed in the open reminds me of Keith. You just can't catch him.
You know, I think thats a pretty good comparison. I dont know if KB has the moves or the strength of this kid. Two plays on that video stand out more than the rest. The first is the play where they number every player that has a chance to tackle him and he ends up making around 7 or 8 miss and the last few all combine together just to get him down. the second is where he splits the punt coverage team against UMS-Wright and hes halfway through the coverage before they realize it. He is upfield and they havent even made the turn to chase, but are still running down to cover the punt. Then at the end of that return he blows Brandon Gibson's doors off. He has one of those strides that makes it look so effortless but he just keeps leaving people. I knew he was a good player but I didnt know he was this good. He is an absolute beast on the football field, a man amongst boys, if you will.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

Anyone see him out running Brandon Gibson late in the video...I thought that surely the competition wasn't up to par until I saw that.. We need this guy.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

A man among boys. At 6' 4" tall and 215 lbs with 4.4 speed he will be a star at the next two levels. He makes it look easy. According to Foley Head Coach Todd Watson he is supporting a 3.2 GPA. Not Bad. His 25 Feb 07 visit to BAMA was a good one, I am sure. RTR :BigA:

BTW he ran a 4.41 in Jacksonville.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

At his size and speed he could be like another Calvin Johnson.......maybe not quite as fast.
Calvin Johnson got clocked at 4.6 in the NFL combine, Julio has been clocked at 4.4 repeatedly, pretty hard to say Calvin is faster, CJ is actually considered slow for most WR's. Although I must say, Jerry Rice ran a 4.61 at his NFL combine. . . .

Calvin was clocked in the high 4.3's in another man's shoes at the combine.

Julio is generally in the mid 4.5's. Doesn't matter, though. He is a freak. His football speed is faster than his 40 indicates.

He did outrun him but blow his doors off is a stretch, not to mention he was angling away from brandon which makes it looks worst than it actually was.

Where are you getting that from? Johnson ran a sub 4.4 in someone else's shoes no less.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

That just goes to show how faulty 40 times are. He ran a 4.6 in his own shoes, and a 4.3 in someone elses shoes he borrowed. If those shoes really knocked of .3 seconds, then we should all be wearing them.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

espn interviewed calvin johnson the other day and he cleared the talk about the "borrowed shoes story" by saying the shoes were indeed his. he wasnt going to run the 40 yard dash at the nfl combine, so he let another combine player run in his shoes since they had the same shoe size. then calvin johnson changed his mind about not running thr 40 yard dash and decided to run (a 4.35 which is insane for his height and weight and thats why he is going to be the first WR taken in the draft next month). so he asked for his shoes back so he could run it. someone saw the exchange of johnson getting his shoes back and the story was created. sorry if i was ruined the story for anybody, cuz it is good one. but i thought i would throw the truth in there on it.
