Businesses that you don't patronize on principle:

Usually comes out in media or press about the company or some policy they implement. Blockbuster Video is another company that would fall under these lines. Wal-Mart is yet another.
hmmm....i'll just stick to my own gut feelings. a) i don't feel like reading/finding stuff like that. and b) if i did i probably would have any place left to frequent.

BlockBuster Video

After returning a couple of movies, got a call about a week later saying I was overdue on one of them. When I called ,the idiot that answered the phone all but accused me of stealing a movie. They of course found it at the end of month inv. They offered me a $10 credit on my bill for the trouble. I told them what they could do with their $10 and have never been in a BB since...

What are those?:conf2:
he may know more detailed stuff, but all I know about them is that they are closed on Sundays so that their families can go to church or whatever is they do. To me, that's enough for me to give them my business. Now, maybe they butt-in on other wider political issues, but I'm not aware of them.

I won't shop at any local stores that are owned or managed by Indian (dotted, not feathered) or Middle Eastern folk. Yes, it's judgmental and whatever else you want to call it, but that's just me. They crank up prices and offer little-to-no customer service, at least around here.

I have no idea how chick fil a plays politics but I've got to say that I respect them closing on Sundays. It no doubt costs them millions. I have to respect a company that practices what it preaches (pardon the pun)

Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-et is a strong supporter of the Democrat Party. Funny that a liberal would not support him because Truett Cathy is also Christian, takes very good care of his employees and donates alot of money to charities. Seems rather closed minded.

I will not support Citgo or Texaco. Citgo because of Hugo and Texaco for their past racist promotion practices.

I don't like that they close on Sunday's because the weekend is one of the times when we get to drive 2 hours into Flagstaff to do stuff. If I'm there on a Sunday I WANT a Caesar Wrap and Waffle Fries!!!

As for gas, just about all of it comes from some country run by a mad dictator who doesn't like us, so I just get it from the closest place with decent gas (BP/Amoco in my case). As far as I know, all gas is blended with ethanol now since the old chemical it was blended with (MTFE) was suddenly banned by the federal gov't (gee, wonder what lobby was behind that???).

Home Depot: Orange color and they really, really messed up a big order for blinds for my house.

Ford/GM/Chrysler: If they don't care enough about their cars to at least try to compete with the imports, I'll keep buying the imports. Besides, if I buy a Honda built in Ohio, a Mercedes built in Alabama, or a BMW built in SC, is it still an import? Is a GM built in Mexico or a Ford built in Canada still domestic?

Numerous restaurants due to poor service / quality.

McDonalds: I've always been freaked out by clowns. The bag probably tastes better than their burgers and is definitely better for you.

Target: They threw out the Salvation Army during Christmas.

Regions Bank: A very long history and rich tradition of absolute incompetence.

I have for years avoided (as much as possible) anything built in China. Politics aside, the quality of their products are absolutely pitiful.

Any political party: They can all stick it in their ear if they think I'm buying what they're selling

I'd agree, even though i am nowhere near that area. The only place I won't go back to is Subway. I got bad food poisoning one night from them. I don't care for fast food in general, unless I really am in a rush for something.

Around here in corn country, the 85/15 gas/ethanol blend is the cheapest, so I'll buy it even though it's a subsidized fiasco.
Keep in mind that, depending on your vehicle, ethanol blends reduce fuel efficiency 2-10%. That means a gallon of real gas will be more cost effective if it's just a few cents' difference.

He is also a big supporter of pro life causes and has a history of discriminating against gay people in his restaurants. I said I was an uber-liberal, I never said I was a Democrat. The Democratic Party in the south is far from liberal. It might as well be a wing of the Republican Party.

I don't know. My '91 Honda gets 30+ MPG in the city. Even with the A/C cranked up.

If you are going to continue to post on this forum and claim to be one of the elite, the uber-liberal clique, go back and correct your post:

"He is also a big supporter or anti-choice causes".....

Now that we've gotten that straight. No pun intended. :p

I had not before you mentioned it because it was all over the news here. Wal-Mart even begun running Christmas ads that prominently showed the Salvation Army volunteers in front of their door. But since you asked: Mash here
I love how the "Target hates Savation Army" myth persists.

It looks like they just don't want their stores to resemble flea markets...the way the Evil Empire looks on Saturdays, with folks in orange vests selling Tootsie Rolls and firemen holding out their boots for donations.

It's still ok to not want to be bothered by these people when you enter a place of business.....and it doesn't mean you don't care or you don't contribute to these organizations.

Citgo - Hugo is a big turd.

Hardee's -- Went to one in riverdale, Ga off of Hwy 85. I was sitting in the drive thru and looked to my right at a hedge they had installed between a bank and the restaurant. I counted at least 15 rats running around the hedge. Ever since, I pass a Hardee's I see rodents in my mind.

Checker's -- My mother in law and myself both got food poisoning from burgers there a few years back.

AirTran -- only because I work for Delta.

Truett Cathy works diligently to empower disadvantaged kids here in Georgia. He has several Childrens Homes, http://www.winshape.org/, one is in Wadley, Alabama, that I have visited a couple of times. The generosity he shows these kids is amazing. The kids are placed in the homes through area Churches mostly. If a Church sees a need, Cathy fills it the best way he can.

I go to Target specifically for that reason. I am tired of walking to the store, being accosted by 20 bums looking for handouts, then have to navigate around a bell clanger , then have to politely tell the cashier that "No, I don't want to contribute $1 for the childhood leukemia society." Then dodge the girl scout cookie nazis, then dodge the bell clanger again, then stare at the future convict trying to get me to contribute to the child anti-drug campaign, then politely decline 8 more bums looking for handouts, then get home and read my paystub at how the gov just took 20% of my money to contribute to all these people anyway.

Thank you Target for telling them all to go to hell and quit interfering with my life!!!!! I would just like to be able to leave my house without feeling the slime of drifters and beggars trying to leach more money out of me.

I feel slightly better now. Oh and before any of you bleeding heart bunny huggers tell me I would think differently if I was in one of these poor people's situations then you are right, I would feel differently. I would definitely think I could sit around and give up on life and hard-working people would enable me to be a complete waste of protein. I would think that everyone I see is my own little piggy-bank. I would think the world OWES me bc I didn't get an equal chance at life. The moderators won't let me use the verbage that precisely describes how I feel about these people. But to be comletely G-rated: They are an embarassment to the human race and should get a job or die in the street. Either way I no longer care, I just want them to go away. Thank you Target!!!!!!
