I've had season tickets for several years now and I must say that was THE LOUDEST game i've ever been to at Bryant Denny. I applaud our fans for finally stepping up and getting loud when it was necessary
My ears were (and are still!) ringing more for this game than they ever have and I've been going to all the games at home since 1986 (missed UT a couple weeks ago due to a work-related trip, though...man!)I've had season tickets for several years now and I must say that was THE LOUDEST game i've ever been to at Bryant Denny. I applaud our fans for finally stepping up and getting loud when it was necessary
I was at both games and its hard to say which one was louder last night or Tennesee, at times last night the crowd was louder than ever ( I couldn't hear the elephant roar after the Arenas touchdown), hope that carries over and BDS stays that wayThat is good to hear and it surprises me. On tv te crowd did not sound as loud as it did for the ut game. Guess that what i get for not being there![]()
I watched the recording of the game when I got home, and the sound was nowhere near what it sounded like at the game. The sound quality for this game was way off.Well that's good to hear. CBS must not have miked the crowd that good because on TV the stadium seemed almost dead quite during most of the middle portion of the game. CBS usually rocks my 5.1 system with crowd noise, last they did not.
The commentators are usually in a booth behind a glass window. The sound equipment also has the ability to cut out a lot of background noise. Itll never be loud on tv like it is in person.I watched the recording of the game when I got home, and the sound was nowhere near what it sounded like at the game. I agree 100 % I guess I should have posted the title as "It was the loudest i've ever heard Bryant Denny."Eh, it was loud....at times. BDS is not nearly as loud as it 'should' be and that is the fans' fault. I got my section pumped up pretty much most of the game but a lot of them fizzled out and were exhausted (from the bad calls) and just kind of quit cheering. Kind of ticked me off that our fans just quit like that.
We as fans need to understand that fan noise does indeed make a difference. I don't care what anyone says, it does matter. If you're fans aren't rooting and you're a player, would you get that second wind in you to perform better? I doubt it unless you're a natural play maker.
I would really like to see BDS and UA fans be loud the entire game length. Of course its hard to do that when its a televised game because IMHO that kills momentum and crowd noise waiting on the stupid guy in the red hat to leave the field singaling they are back on the air.
To sum it up, yes it was loud (at times), but not nearly as loud as 92k+ fans should sound like. There are much louder stadiums out there.
