Do you guys realize how good of a RB this guy is going to be after a year in Alabama's S&C program? I know everyone has their favorite recruit and Chris if mine, I feel like guys that commit early fall of the radar and for that reason I don't blame kids for holding out until NSD. Look how much you get talked about if you hold out. ;) I'm just really excited about our RB's we'll have next year. If you look at them all it is UNREAL... Grant, Coffee, Upchurch, Goode, Jeramie Griffin (most say he will be a TB), Chris Jordan, Ivan Matchett, Preyear and if we add Ingram....

With our returning line and the guys we have coming in I feel confident we will lead the SEC in rushing (look out Moreno) if not the NCAA. 2008 is going to be great and I think we are going to see alot of true freshman making some major impacts on Saturday's this year. I want these guys to get ready/experienced for 2009. :BigA:

I love that guys game too. He could be a good RB, but I think he'll end up @ LB. Especially if we get Ingram, we have enough good young RB talents, and I think depth @ the LB position would allow him more pt. But Im sure the staff has a plan

Well it was reported that Jordan committed to Bama on the promise he would play RB. He will excel at either position I have no doubt, but I feel he will be really special with the rock in his hands.

I just love getting all these recruits out of Tennessee. Phat Phil probably never sleeps anymore, haha.

He was told that was the plan. But these things are never a promise, and if they are, they're not good promises.

Im sure he'll get a chance to practice with the RBs and see how that works out, but I think the bigger need is @ LB and he can excel there too.

I agreed with this assessment. I know Jordan will be giving every chance to succeed as a RB. And if he does indeed succeed, that great for Alabama. But if Alabama lands Ingram, and either Mark, or perhaps a healthy Goode takes over at starting RB and runs with it, then I could see Jordan making his impact at Alabama at LBer.

Last I heard he was 6'3" 210 lbs and ran a 4.35. Why anyone would want someone that size and speed anywhere besides RB will always be a mystery to me, esp. when his high school coach compared him to Bo Jackson. . .

I completely agree! I mean hand that man the ball and let him plow down field. With that size and speed who could stop him? Maybe Terrence Cody could, but fortunately he'll be playing for the good guys. I'm giddy with excitement!:BigA:

That is how I feel. He will probably have the most raw talent/ability of any RB we have this Fall so why not play him at RB. Either way I'm just ready to see this kid play, he is going to make a name for himself.

It is obvious that Coach Saban does not think that Bama's current RB talent is SEC caliber. In fact, he actually stated as much. That is why he is looking so desperately for RBs in this class. If Jordan is a big time RB talent he will play there because Bama does not have such now. Hopefully Goode will fill the bill, Saban thinks he has the talent, at least before the injury.

Bottom line: much of Bama's running problems were with the RBs, but the OL got all of the blame. They were not great but neither were the RBs.

In the Colorado game alone Bama had 3 fall downs in the open field with no one within 7 yards of the runner. That was just 1 symptom.

Before we coin the phrase "stallion" let's remember the man that made the name what it is. I'm an old timer so I would imagine that a lot of you youngsters don't even know about the "stallion". There was a a feller that played out of Banks high school, (don't bother lookin' it ain't around anymore). They called him the Stallion, and he made the barners sick, (half back pass at half time). He lives in Chicago now and his boy's played at north eastern. Until you young'uns can name him don't even talk bout a stallion.

Let's hope Chris Jordan becomes another Johnny Musso.

while i agree that bama should have a great run game next year, i doubt bama will lead the SEC in rushing

LSU, UF, AU, and UGA will all have great running games, with LSU/UF likely having the top 2 in the SEC

The Italian Stallion's son, played at Northwestern, not Northeastern.

The joke back then was that Shug Jordan had a heart attack when he went out to milk the cows down on the planes. The old milk cow turned and looked at Shug while he was sitting on the stool tugging the utters and said to him, MOOOOOOOOSO.

Florida? IDK. Really with Arky losing so much we should atleast be in the top 3 with UGA and AU. Our O line is one of the most talented with 2 All SEC guys, and many talented backs. We should have atleast a top 5, because I see us going back to properly running
