Additionally, Brian Witherspoon of Stillman College, who has no football experience, worked out separately. He ran the 40 in 4.33 and 4.29, had a 40-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 10-inch long jump, 4.36 short shuttle, 6.86 cone drill, and ran position drills for cornerback and kick returns.

Anybody that can run this fast and not recruited.....I can only guess he has really really bad hands......????????????

coming from me who has no experience at this sort of stuff at all, it seems like he could have been recruited as an athlete and tested out and placed where he would work best. However, that wouldn't really make much sense if you have a full class. I know i wouldnt want to recruit an "unproven" athlete if i didn't know where he would fit, especially if it meant i would have to bump a "proven" guy.

just my thoughts....

Edit: did he try to walk on anywhere? I know that it says he is from stillman with no football experience, but it also seems like that sort of speed wouldn't be overlooked and he would be encourged to walk on.

When you say he wasn't recruited, do you mean recruited by us or any other major football program?

Based on my understanding, he has football experience. However, he was better at track than football.

Just because he can run and jump doesnt mean squat. I played with guys that were fast but couldnt play dead in a cowboy movie, much less play football.

Christopher Walsh got it wrong. Witherspoon played 4 years at Stillman as a DB. He played in 33 games over 4 yrs.

Speed kills....I think I would have given him a shot at running back (like LSU and their little guy Brandon?) where the QB hands him the ball and he takes off. IF he gets around the corner, he's gone.
