If you haven't seen it, you should. There are some slow parts in the middle, but the first third and the last third of the movie are excellent, funny, and fresh. It's an interesting idea for a movie - sort of a movie within a movie. Here are a few things to look for:

~The previews will take you by surprise. When I saw the first one, I was almost offended....then my sense of humor kicked in and I "got it."

~Despite cowriting and directing the movie, Ben Stiller becomes almost a secondary character. I was impressed that he didn't feel the need to show up his co-stars.

~Robert Downey, Jr. is excellent. This guy wasted far too many years burning out his brain with drugs. When I think of all the cool parts he could've been playing during those years.....man. Anyway, he hits another one out of the park with his role here. Funny lines, perfectly delivered, and some facial expressions that sent me rollin'.

~Matthew McConaughey is beautiful to look at. (that's just an aside for you ladies out there):)

~Tom Cruise absolutely steals the movie. I hate that I enjoyed him in this role because he's an utter fruitcake and alien wannabe, but I have to admit it, he was funny and played his part perfectly. It was refreshing to see him not take himself too seriously. This role may be what yanks him back from the oblivion he's been steadily heading towards since the couch-jumping incident.

~Oh, and Matthew McConaughey is beautiful.:)

Yeah, I watched it this morning online. It was alright, of course I had already been up for about 16 hours 'working' all night and into the morning. I could have probably done without Jack Black's character...just kind of meh to me with him.

But yeah, Robert Downey Jr. is definitely cut from an different mold, in a good way.

Downey Jr. certainly stole the show, he was great. I thought the movie was pretty good but I thought Pineapple Express was funnier and better overall. Rogen and Franco were great in that movie.

I refuse to see that movie just because of Robert Downey Jr.

Allow me to elaborate:

I'm a Batman fanboy, of course, and naturally inferiority will settle in on Marvel's biggest star, which forces him to open his mouth and bash The Dark Knight.

At first I did want to see the movie, until Downey Jr. allowed his corroded tongue to ruin it for me. Now I refuse to support him by seeing any movie he's in.

What I find particularly piquant is this picture snapped of he and his son walking together in LA a few days ago (notice his son's shirt and belt buckle):
