The roundtable makes you WANT to listen to Jim Rome, that's how bad it is.
It has nothing to do with sports. Lance is very knowledgeable of sports, but he's wasting his talent trying to get a gig out of town.
The only reason they have a show is because Lance is a great salesman, which helps him sell sponsorship of the show. The station won't do anything because it's basically a paid-for show, without the station having to worry about revenue.
At least the other guy thinks he funny, he seams to laugh at himself quite a bit. They both go way overboard trying to hide where they went to school.
At least Dunaway, on Dunaway and Brown, admits his passion for the Tide and still has a great show.

I think that the OD could use a cut of one personality, namely the one that has never played football. I love Tony as a person but he has no place on a sports show. He knows nothing and all he wants to do is argue with Jay and Al.
And he is so domineering, and that's sad considering who he's sitting next to.
I thinks he is still a little intoxicated when he comes in, Jay and Al are way more passive than most having to listen to someone practically yelling at them. But the show has potential, especially with Jay and Al too if he would let go of the homer a tad. Tony needs to go along with the Roxanne segment.
Like rolltidescott said, great show, I listened to it everyday when living in Tuscaloosa, but we dont get it up here! I really wish we did. Maybe 93.9 will get on here and see my post...Instead, I have to listen to the "F" word...Finebaum...

Doug layton had a mid day show on Jox back in the early 90's it was a good one. Live with layton I think it was called, he started the whole Roxanne gossip spots back then.
Matt Coulter was originally on WERC, and they got finebaum to replace him.....actually they wanted them to do a co host thing and Matt quit. He was WAPI for a cup of coffee and ended up doing the morning show with Griffin there after..
I dont remember it, but I heard that Eli had a calling all sports shows on WERC in the late 80's, which Coulter took over, then Finebaum...
WERC needs a afternoon drive sports show, and Matt would be a perfect fit...
Eli Gold had "Calling all Sports" before he was ever associated with Bama. It was a great show as Eli is a pro and was able to keep the show from devolving into Bama-api back & forth

one of the best shows i.m.o. was many years ago. it was called "F Troop" and featured finebaum,john forney,& jim fyffe. came on sat. mornings during football season. too,i miss bob lochamy!:biggrin:

Her arrogant condescending attitude for one. Also as someone else mentioned, she mostly just regurgitated what Herb and Ray would say. Her knowledge of sports was very limited (except for maybe the Braves).
