I don't understand the voting. The announcer stated, and showed a graphic that Tebow won more 1st place votes. I don't understand voting for 2nd and 3rd place; why would you vote for 2nd and 3rd place, and how did it influence the vote?

Tebow, aka Superman, will be back in NYC next year (barring injury), especially after he single handedly takes OU and Bradford apart in the BCSCG.

Don't waste any tears...
I agree. This will be the biggest mismatch since Florida played OSU in the BCSCG.

It just means that the people that prefer the Big 12 voted Tebow low enough that he wouldn't win...

For all those that say Tebow meant more to his team, the award is given to the most outstanding player and not the most valuable player. Just take a look at Bradford's stats, he had to win. 67% cp, 4,400 passing yards, 48 TD's 6 INT's. Those numbers are just sick.

Agreed - Tebow is the best that the NCAA has seen since Hershel Walker, IMO...
My point though was that it doesn't matter how valuable Tebow was to his team, Bradford had the better season and therefore deserves the award. The Heisman is not a MVP award, the value to the players team does not matter.

I have a problem with the Heisman and no it's not because we've never had a Heisman winner. As Coach Bryant said, players come to Alabama to win championships not the Heisman.

Football is the ultimate team game. The Heisman singles out one player as the most outstanding player in college football. That guy has 10 other guys out on the field with him. If the Heisman winner does not have excellent players around him, he's not going to be very good. I just don't get singling out one player as "the most outstanding" in what is THE team game if there ever was one. :conf2:

And the award always goes to a QB, RB and once in a while a WR. Does this mean that the best football players in college are a QB, RB or WR? I don't know about you guys, but I don't think that's always the case. These are the guys that get the numbers because of the position they play. Does this make them the best?

Also, it seems to me the Heisman isn't what it used to be. I'm 42 and when I was a kid growing up, it seemed to mean something. It seemed to me that the award had some clout. It does not seem that way to me now. As a matter fact, I think it's one of the most overrated awards in all of sports.

JMHO. :)

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I couldn't stomach Tebow winning another Heisman. He's certainly a great story, but the media has about made me sick of hearing his name.

I'm with you, CG. Tim's great, & is hugely important to his team, & is a great kid w/ a good story. But dadburn...we've heard it! I'm just wondering if it's safe for Gary Danielson to be alone tonight since his boy Tim didn't win it...; )

My friends from OU & UTx don't believe this is possible, but I was pulling for either Colt or Sam to win, while being fairly indifferent as to which one won it.

I don't care ... I'm just happy Tebow didn't win it again. Maybe they'll spend the first 4 weeks on GameDay next season talking about someone other than Tebow and Beanie Wells now.

"I'm glad Tebow didn't win it. I'm so damn tired of the media lovefest with him"

Thank you!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!!! :)

I thought it was well deserved. There isn't a better passer in college football than Bradford IMO.
I agree, Tebow is a competitor and IMO it was him that beat us in the fourth quarter of the SECCG but he is overrated and over hyped as a QB. IMO Bradford will make it as a QB at the next level and TT will not.

Hopefully, Tebow will declare after the NC game and we won't have to listen to this again next year.

If this puts you in the minority..... then I have also reached "minority status". I'm tired all the superman comments.:BigA:

Tebow is a phenomenol QB. I understand how some of you can be sick of him, but he totally lives up to the hype. Did you watch the SECCG? That was just a snapshot of his career. If I had to choose one college QB to win a college ball game for me, TT would be it. Bradford would be my last choice.
