Trump policies X

"11 months ago I inherited a mess and I'm fixing it."

What "mess" did he inherit?

I'm serious.

UNEMPLOYMENT DEC 2024: 4.1%
UNEMPLOYMENT TODAY: 4.6%

INFLATION DEC 2024: 2.9%
INFLATION TODAY: 2.7%
INFLATION SEP 2025: 3% (meaning Trump increased it)

ECONOMIC GROWTH DEC 2024: 2.4%
ECONOMIC GROWTH LAST REPORT: 3.8%

=================================

2.4% is higher than some so-called great times like:
3rd quarter 1995 (1.6)
1st quarter 1996 (2.2)
2nd quarter 2016 (1.1)
3rd quarter 2019 (2.1)

He no more inherited an economic mess than I inherited a million bucks.

He's managed despite DOGE to slice an insignificant $40B off the budget deficit of over 1.8T.

Yeah, the world of architecture/construction feels a little too 2008ish for my taste. Like 2008 we have a ton of potential work, but nothing solid. We had a few clients that believed trump would be great and we would all be swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck.

in my mind (no one has asked my input yet), regulating it would involve communicating the thc content (to a reasonable level of course) so that people could decide themselves how they want to take it
I cant speak about other areas but in Md, both medical and recreational MJ has a clearly labeled THC content.

I am confused. Weren't we already going to the moon with the Artemis Missions?

That's the plan per one of my pals that is a middle to upper senior engineer at Marshall.

They were hoping for a landing as early as 2027 on NASA time, which probably means 2030 in the real world...

The Don is flinging everything against the wall to see if something will steer people away from demanding the full unredacted Epstein files.

Seems more like trump is trying to make it about himself like usual. Now if they do it in 2028 or even before he can claim credit.

Thanks for the reply and data, Bill.

The economy is an important aspect for discussion for sure. Many are saying it will be the main voter topic in the next election, so we'll see how it all plays out. It's only been 11 months and I'm optimistic things improve.

Personally I'm THRILLED the price of gas didn't sky rocket - as it did when Biden was in office. But I also realize there are many other considerations that affect the American people as a whole.

But if someone were to ask me what I appreciate the most 11 months in ---- it would be improved control of our southern border management.

Trump and his team have been working hard to remove those who shouldn't have been allowed in - that's a messy job but we need for it to happen.

I also think he's done a very good job with foreign policy, so far. More to be done, for sure.

I really don't want to spend a lot of time debating but wanted to at least give you the courtesy of a reply.

Cheers, my friend! :)

What's funny is that I don't know that this particular thing is actually about the "Redacted To Remove Trump" Files. I think it's that peculiarity of his nostalgic focus on what he thought was dazzling when he was growing up.

He remembers us going to the moon and wants to be a President that oversaw it.
He remembers when manufacturing was a wheel in the economy (1945-70) and wants us to go back to that.

I'm amazed he hasn't gone to a football game at Notre Dame, donned a uniform shirt, and asked them all to call him "the Gipper."

It's what his infantile, sugar high toddler brain can process.

That new White House ballroom - and this is according to a number of not at all conservative sources - is a good idea in the sense that when you have those gatherings and everyone gets the "indoor photo op," most of the people are shuttled outside. So even a lot of them who have no love at all for Trump concede such an area is needed.

But this is all about him getting talked about 25-100 years from now when he's still trying to figure out why his locale is hotter than the Sahara, too. It serves an apparent purpose even to those in the know, but it has nothing to do with why he's doing it.

And as is typical, he has cost overruns because of course he does.

True... I think the major issue with the ballroom is the massive overcapacity and the effect on the skyline... And the inevitable grifting.

But yes, it did sound like our facilities were a bit embarrassing.

Basically, something else for Trump to slap his name on...

I've run out of words at this point... There is a good reason battleships went away. Carriers may join them shortly if the anti-carrier missiles work as planned.
