Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) (part II)

NOT posting this to ‘blame the dems’, just pointing out that despite all the rhetoric to the contrary, there’s a ton of overlap between the two sides in DC.

I’m not anti-ICE as a whole, but for those that are, voting for this is dumb.

I’m not sure that 7 out of 213 equals tons of overlap on the ICE issue, but I’m certainly frustrated that these democrats voted for the bill.

womp, womp

Judges in Minnesota denied motions by the Trump administration to detain three protesters arrested this week for demonstrating inside a St. Paul church whose pastor allegedly works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

U.S. District Judge Laura M. Provinzino wrote in her order for two of the protesters, Nekima Valdez Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Louisa Allen, that Justice Department lawyers failed to “demonstrate that a detention hearing is warranted, or that detention is otherwise appropriate.”

States that cooperate with ICE vs those that do not.
Many Alabamians I see aren't so keen to have an extra judicial army with a budget larger than the majority of defense budgets on the globe operating outside of ordinary legal protections.

I get it, I’m just answering why you’re seeing what you are. States that work with ICE have had TONS of illegal aliens arrested, it’s just not headline news as the police are reporting their arrests and it’s happening as it’s designed to.

States that support ICE trampling constitutional rights v those that don't.
Okay.

I mean, in states that work with ICE most of the people detained are held by local police after being reported. I’ve not heard of many doors being kicked in in states where the local police actually work with ICE rather than antagonizing them.

Tomato, tomato in your world, I guess.

🤷‍♂️

In Trump supporting states, Trump's thugs aren't running roughshod over the constitution. Yay?

Yes, it's a win.

They shouldn't regardless, but "sanctuary states" who refused to work with ICE (even before Trump ramped them up) are part of the issue, as evidence by those states that cooperate.
"Sanctuary states" (and cities) are operating entirely within their rights as allowed by the US Constitution, unlike Trump and his brutish and unqualified police force. That is the issue.

The problem is that the only people paying a price so far are those being brutalized by ICE. That needs to change.

if only they would have complied with dear leader, they wouldn't have to be punished like this
Submission is the only answer.

This seems relevant:

In Republican-leaning states, 59% of ICE arrests occur in prisons and jails. Conversely, in Democratic-leaning states, ICE is more likely to arrest immigrants from the community, with 70% of arrests taking place at worksites, streets, and during mass roundups.

Many of those arrested in these states have no criminal record, according to CNN.

It appears that there is a coordinated attempt to terrorize the general populace in blue states (You know, where all the Antifa leaders are). It's fairly obvious that Trump is looking for some rationale to invoke the Insurrection Act.

So, submit, or we'll trample all over you; hey, the SC has shown no inclination to protect you, so don't expect any relief there. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
