While I understand not playing Ttech in football....to penalize all Ttech sports is a bit overboard and not fair to the minor sports who had nothing to do with this ruling.
I was happy to see them lose while wonder boy was in the suite watching. One of their "minor sports that had nothing to do with it" showed up in OKC last week at the Womens College World Series with a roster that is rumored to cost them $15,000,000 and they still haven't won a freaking thing. Tech needs to be reigned in before everything falls apart.
I understand your point, but see the situation differently. While I understand not playing Ttech in football....to penalize all Ttech sports is a bit overboard and not fair to the minor sports who had nothing to do with this ruling.
I can only find a $3M valuation on their roster though that may just be the search....it was also rumored that UT was more..since they are now back to back champions...Ttech softball hasnt committed any violation...that resides in the Football program or specifically with one player in that program. I can see the argument that it needs to be nipped in the bud so a sweeping exclusion of all TTech sports from competition is the only way to push back but personally I think thats punishing the many for the crimes of the few. The ace pitcher was $1.2, West Virginia hillbilly’s daughter was at least $250k, not much room for the rest of the team if your number is true.I can only find a $3M valuation on their roster though that may just be the search....it was also rumored that UT was more..since they are now back to back champions...Ttech softball hasnt committed any violation...that resides in the Football program or specifically with one player in that program. So all judge in the Bediako case had to recuse himself, but this is just fine?Didn’t save the link but supposedly every judge in this lower court is a TT grad. Brandon Marcello posted it a few minutes ago on Twitter.

Google: The estimated cost of the Texas Tech women's softball roster in terms of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) funds is widely reported to be around $3 million, making it one of the most expensive rosters in the country. The ace pitcher was $1.2, West Virginia hillbilly’s daughter was at least $250k, not much room for the rest of the team if your number is true.
Actually I think he did complete his rehab. All 30 days of it. Apparently that is all it takes and he is all cured now.
Nah, he is cured now. Otherwise allowing him to continue to play a sport that aided in his addiction would be irresponsible. And they cannot possibly be irresponsible. Right? There is no “cure“ in addiction treatment. It is terminal. You either die “from it” or “with it”. Even all these years of clean time, I am still a compulsive gambler. I will die a compulsive gambler. But I am a compulsive Gump gambler outside of active addiction. My desire to Gamble is currently “arrested”. The moment that I accept that I am “cured“ is the moment that I head down a slippery slope.
The over/under to be cured is 35 days. Sorsby bet the under prior to entering treatment.Actually I think he did complete his rehab. All 30 days of it. Apparently that is all it takes and he is all cured now.
You just... do it.Refusing to schedule TT is a noble idea but I don’t see how the B12 can do that short of kicking them out of the conference. And what if UGA draws them in the postseason? Just forfeit the game? Is a swimmer not going to be allowed to get in the pool if a Tech swimmer is in the next lane? Sorry, Bob, I know you’ve trained your whole life for this but you can’t compete in the 100 meter freestyle championship race because the quarterback gambled on football games a couple years ago.
I disagree. The strongest of messages need to be sent. Banning ALL sports puts tremendous pressure on TT, and you KNOW the other coaches and players from TT will scream at their AD to fix it. And after their softball coach admitted their boosters are reaching out during the season to recruit other team's players, I have no sympathy for TT.While I understand not playing Ttech in football....to penalize all Ttech sports is a bit overboard and not fair to the minor sports who had nothing to do with this ruling.
Except their softball coach all but admitted the boosters are contacting other team's players during the season.
