JessN: Bama-USF wrap-up: Defense shines, offense sputters as Bama pulls away late

I came here to say the same thing. I'm not saying that Brown isn't an athletic QB that could give any defense fits, but they were in our red zone way more than I am comfortable with given the talent gap. I'm glad things came together in the second half defensively, but I would be hard pressed...

    Transfer Portal 2023-2024...

Good for Jalen. I do love the kid's ethics, integrity, and loyalty. It's refreshing.

    Who is Saban's replacement?

It would be baffling to me why anyone not already buried in the depth chart would even consider a transfer. Does it suck to lose the GOAT? Sure. Do you really think you'll get a better opportunity with another program compared to helping a new coach who put his last team in the natty put a new...

    Who is Saban's replacement?

Objectively, I wish that the timing of all this better aligned with having a more clear heir apparent in the mix. Any number of other seasons would have allowed for that, but with Rees only having been on staff for one year and Steele retiring himself, it leaves no such transition on the table...

    Who is Saban's replacement?

Man, everyone here acting like the Belichick announcement was coincidence...come on, connect the dots, people.

    Who is Saban's replacement?

I maybe haven't read every post here, so someone could have already made this joke, but... Belichick to Bama? :P

Is the quality of College Football suffering as a result of the transfer portal/NIL?

In the way things are today? Absolutely. It would be hard to argue otherwise. At least with the NFL there are contractual arrangements in place to keep things mostly consistent until players hit free agency. NCAAF is the wild west right now and the only rule of law is money.

Nick Saban Retiring? It's Official .. the Goat is gone

There are stupid fans in every fan base, but the ones that didn't realize we've had a "once in a lifetime" sort of coach were/are a special kind of stupid. We've been super lucky to have had two such coaches in my lifetime. Good coaches may come and go (and hopefully we see one come our way)...

Nick Saban Retiring? It's Official .. the Goat is gone

I knew this day would come eventually. I'm still in shock, regardless. So far 2024 has brought me covid, the shut-down of my employer, and now the loss of our GOAT. I really hope the rest of the year is an improvement. Best of luck and Roll Tide, coach. I hope you enjoy your retirement. We will...

Talk of Sabans retirement is heating up again. Thoughts?

Will it be right someday? Sure because we all retire one way or another. However, how right have they been since day one about the timing of such a thing? The headlines were the same after his first natty with Bama, and then again after his second, and then after every losing season...you get...

Unbelievable...just unbelievable. I am not sure how that 4th and 2 suddenly breaks the gates open for their offense. So frustrating.

Man...our play calling went super unimaginative after the illegal substitution call.

Bama Game Thread: We're in! - College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Show (12/3/23 | ESPN | Noon ET)

I am surprised they left out FSU and I do feel very sorry for their fans, but very glad we have a chance. I sort of felt in my heart of hearts that that win would put us in the dance, particularly when FSU struggled a bit with Louisville. It’s always good to end with a big win. If the GA and...
