Is it because Pittman expects an o-line to be able to pass block and run block?

Sam Pittman needs a job doesn’t he?

A delusional minority can still be a fair number of people. There are literally millions of people in this country who believe the earth is flat.

DeBoer has not done enough imo to warrant a raise or an extension at this time. I’d be inclined to tell him to take it on the arches if he and Sexton try to use the MI opening as leverage. At some point you have to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

I agree. Who is available that would be better? I can’t think of a single coach…not one. That doesn’t mean I think DeBoer is some incredible coach (I’m still in the evaluation stage in that respect) but it will be a couple more years before I can form a complete opinion on him.

IF we lose to OU again there will be a lot of people here who want him to leave…heck, there are a fair number who seem to already want him to leave.

Battered Quarterback Syndrome: A Discussion on Ty Simpson

I wonder if the offense would have been better or worse if Sheridan was still OC compared to Grubb.

Yup. He said Alabama had a “Nick Saban” problem. To be fair, he has long since admitted that he was dreadfully wrong, but what else is he going to say in light of Saban’s career.

Notre Dame, from 2026, will be guaranteed a CFP spot with a top 12 ranking.

ND schedule next year has three road games, three neutral site games and 6 home games, and the opponents are (but for like 3) a total joke. They will start the season ranked in the top 10 so with this garbage schedule they will most assuredly be in the playoff.

If we lose to OK and that prompts him to leave then he can leave for all I care. I've had it with all the poaching and transferring and coaches abandoning schools at the 11th hour. I'm getting close to the point of not even caring at all it's all gotten so stupid.

Why has Bama been terrible on both sides of the line for 4 or 5 years?

Part of being a fan is also not registering on a rival chat site to stir up trouble and be a loser. Mind you, I am not accusing you of that, but it has been a consistent problem and it is usually quite obvious, especially when it generally only occurs after we lose a big game. Rarely if ever...

I agree it's absurd, but to answer your hypothetical in terms of who we would go after as head coach, we would really be in kind of desperation mode and I could see us perhaps elevating maybe Wommack simply because he has prior head coaching experience. I'm not saying I think that would be a...

Is a private equity venture something Bama could or should explore?

When the university hired David Matthews as president back in the 60's- 70's he quipped about wanting to give the football team a school it could be proud of. In all fairness, the importance of college football at many places has been severely warped for a long time.

Is a private equity venture something Bama could or should explore?

Seems like some kind of NFL-style salary cap is needed, and along with it, a very serious and strong enforcement mechanism to punish the inevitable cheating that will go on. Perhaps some kind of contractual controls that trigger automatic penalties for violations sort of like liquidated damages...

Battered Quarterback Syndrome: A Discussion on Ty Simpson

Agreed. Kirby's UGA teams are almost a mirror image of Saban's Bama teams...minus a bit of personal accountability. If you want to look at the beginning of our o-line issues I think you could start with losing Kyle Flood. It has basically been a steady downward trajectory since then.

Nick Saban to be inducted TODAY (12/9) into College Football Hall of Fame

I constantly told my youngest (who was born the year of our first title under Saban) to cherish it because it wouldn't last forever. What a run.
