Poll: Do you think it's childish for a grown man or woman to wear a Bama jersey?

I wear an Alabama jersey or a coach's Polo nearly every day. When I was a kid, some forty-plus years ago, I got a Bama jersey every Christmas. My parents did not know you could have any number pressed on the blank jerseys at the sporting good store, so I always got the jersey "off the rack" and...

Poll: Do you think it's childish for a grown man or woman to wear a Bama jersey?

When I was a kid growing up, I got a Bama jersey every Christmas. The only problem was I never got a number of anyone famous. Back in those days, my parents bought the jerseys "off the rack" instead of having the sporting goods store press the number of choice. Two years ago, I saw a white #12...

Question about Ken Stabler's 'Bama jersey

Before Nike came into Bama's program, and before the wishbone days of the tear-away, all players had the numbers on their sleeves and the color was a bit darker than it is today.

Poll: Names on the back of the Jersey's, Yes or No!

You are correct Jess. Before Bryant came, the Tide wore kahki colored pants and white helmets. In 1960, we even had stripes on the jersey sleeves, later replaced by numbers that went away with the tear-aways. Dang, I'm old.

Poll: Names on the back of the Jersey's, Yes or No!

Yet he introduced the names on the backs in Cotton Bowl after the 1980 season. Perkins took them off and Curry put them back on and they have been there ever since.

Crazy video of Tommy Lewis tackling someone from the sidelines in '54 cotton bowl

One of his teammates is in the same REC as i am and he has told the whole story about that play. After Tommy tackled Moegel, he went behind the rest of the team and hid with embarassment. His teammates kept all sideline photographers from getting pictures of him. I thought that was a very classy...

News Article: Tennessee wrap-up: Alabama's win shows Tennessee may be in for a long fall

When Dooley was hired, I was and am still hoping that class would be brought back to the rivalry that Fulmer, Dickey, and Kramer worked so hard to ruin. I just hopes Dooley gets a fair chance nd if not, maybe he can go somewhere else and be successful. Who knows, he might be picked by Saban...

    Question: A-Day 2010

On another site, Blake Sims' qualifying is going to be close, so I guess that would rule out him enrolling early. Ralston Fowler is supposed to be one of the early guys. A-Day will be fun and a whole lot of talent will be on the field that day.

The Obligatory "Here's My Take On the Game" Thread...

I can remember back in the late 70's when I would hear my Dad say something like, "We should have thrown more." "We shouldn't have let them klick that field goal." Folks, we are getting back to the days that we are complaining about an ugly VICTORY. Five or six years ago we were tickled to win...

News Article: FIU preview: Golden Panthers bring veteran passing attack to Tuscaloosa

"Barring some kind of monumental meltdown, there’s not much to talk about here. Look for Alabama to win this game the way the Tide won many games in 2008 – starting slowly, wearing down the opposition and then putting them away for good in the second half. Alabama is still not explosive enough...

News Article: VT wrapup: Alabama’s opener surprisingly good

Coach said that there was more of the wildcat to come. I think there are alot of possibilities personel and scheme wise. Opposing DC's have alot to worry and prepare for now. However, I think things will be very vanilla for the next two weeks.

Fan Day Set for Sunday, August 9th

You would have to leave and re-enter the stadium to do that. With only 45 minutes to get an autograph, the line will be too long for you to get an autograph from the Coach. Anyone else? Who knows.

Re: Let's get something straight about "Gadsden..." (read edit to opening post) Coach Saban hears all of this crap and was quoted at an REC gathering," You think they hate us now, wait 'til we've kicked their @$$ the next several years!"
