There is Scufflegrit. It's in Marion County just outside Yampertown but if you make it to Twin you've gone too far. And don't forget Gu-win located between Winfield and Guin. :)

The story I've heard is that there were a bunch of people named Palmer in the area back when the area was unincorporated. So, the name Palmerdale was chosen when the city formed. When Remlap was formed, because Palmerdale was taken, they just took Palmer, turned it backwards and named the town Remlap. It seems I may have heard that there was some sort of fued or bad feelings associated with the story, but it's been a long time.
I heard that there was two stops for the trains. One was Palmerdale & the next one had no name. So they named it Remlap (like you stated Palmer spelled backwards.

Cuba has always intrigued me. I always wanted to take that exit on I-20 but never did.

I got off a plane at the Denver airport. There was a huge map of the U.S. In every state there was a dot with a point of interest. For Alabama it was coon dog cemetery. I had to laugh wish I'd gotten a picture.
That's funny! Of all the wonderful things Alabama could be known for, its point of interest was something most of us didn't know about. Love coon dogs, don't get me wrong.

I'll be driving through double puddle tomorrow. I'm taking my son to Sipsey for some backpacking.
Been living in DS for the last 9 years not a bad place to live. Stay dry...Good chance for rain pretty much all weekend. Also I'm originally from Winfield...or Blowfield as you know it ;)
