#4 Yep the richer are getting richer and the rest of us are staying the same or going backward. Started in the Old Testament and envy, jealousy, and covetousness led Cain to kill Abel in just the 2nd generation of humans recorded in that book - long before the 1970's. (If you want to just focus on this country then you haven't paid attention to the so-called Robber Baron era.
FIFY.

Good thing conservatives don't use roads, airports, public schools, tax credits, tax incentives, social security, and medicare. Because if they did we could call them hypocrites.

Never argued against no taxes. Just excessive taxes and government control.

You realize you've provided a list of things (infrastructure, public schools, social programs) that cost far more money than they should thanks to the government?

What's hypocritical about paying for what one uses? What's hypocritical about paying for things on that list that one doesn't use?

And here we have the liberal Godwin's Law except this argument really has no bearing in this thread. We pay state and local taxes that are supposes to take care of these things, but the federal government would rather take money from people in each state only to send it back to the states and tell them how to spend it. You see, conservatives think things like you mentioned would be better served locally rather than federally. I also love how you bring SSI into your point, like people aren't forced to pay into it their whole life but are hypocrites if they expect to get what they are promised. Typical liberal, the only people you want getting anything from the government are people who have paid nothing into it.

Not yet but if I keep reading these ridiculous liberal ideas I may be there soon.

Of course most liberals expect to get theirs but for some reason they expect conservatives to pay and then forget theirs. I've heard that arguement from so many liberals and then the same person will try to make a case as to why someone who has never paid a dime into the system should keep getting money.

What's hypocritical is how conservatives always rant about how socialism is the evilest of all evils, except they practice it all the time. Granted, there are many degrees of socialism. Public schools on one end, estate tax on the other. But it's still socialism. Just admit it.

How do you think states like Alabama, and many others, would do if they didn't have the financial support from the feds?

A swing...and a miss! Nice try though.
Come on, that was at least a stand up double.

Alabama wouldn't need help from the Feds if they would stop taking so much from the people in the state and let that money stay in Alabama. In other words, higher state taxes and lower Fed taxes. How does it make sense for the Feds to take money from the people to only send it back to be spent the way they choose? Feds should just get enough money to support the military and run the government in the smallest possible way.
