Looks like we get the early game on Friday which I never like the early game usually seems not a lot of energy in building with the early start. There isn’t much to go on RMU as they play in small conference but also don’t go out and play anyone non conference. They played WVU first game of season and lost by 28. They are 1-0 vs tourney teams with a win over San Francis.
RMU best player is Kam Woods who is a senior from Alabama so he will be looking has played at Troy, NCA&T, NC State, and now RMU. They look pretty small with on,y 3 guys 6’7 or bigger but 2 only play about 10 minutes. They do have one skilled 6”8 guy from Spain but we should have advantage down low in talent and depth with or without Nelson.

Don’t see any way Bama doesn’t skate here. Bob Morris is a 150ish team at best and bama should blow them away.
Go in feeling that way, in most anything, easy to end up being shown the door. Just seen it happen too many times in too many things in my seven decades on the rock.

Basically, we show up and play a steady game and we move on, unless they bring out two 7 foot white guys who can shoot the 3. Then we are done.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
Yale says hello...
this Bama team is better than that Auburn team, and that Yale team was better than this Bob Morris team. Plus that Auburn team was hardly battle tested, having only 1 Q1 win entering the post season, and had a really nasty habit of not respecting their opponents.

that being said, one of the worst things about single elimination tournaments is that you’re always one future used car salesman going unconscious from 3 away from an early exit lol.

Or one "accidental" elbow to the back of the head to an unsuspecting opponent from losing one of your best players.

Played a huge role but wasn’t the whole story. One of their guards went like 6/9 from range too.

But yeah, one of the big questions for us is whether or not Chad can contain his monkey shines for 6 games. His reputation will certainly play a part and people will try to bait him.

I see this stated quite a bit. If CBM was a fish, the only "bait" you would have to use to catch him would be an empty hook and on a good day he might jump in the boat, open the livewell for you, and flop right in...

Between the flagrant 2 fouls in crucial situations and a reputation as a dirty player separate and apart from that, I also think refs will be watching him closely.

The barn isn't the same team without CBM. So I agree that all opponents will try to bait him.

As I posted earlier, CBM painted a target on himself.

If I’m Troy, I’d drop about 20 fouls on him with my walk ons in the first 5-10 minutes. I bet after 6-7 he would lose it.

Some positive news about Grant:

Oats provided an update on Nelson Monday evening, saying the forward is “questionable” for the first-round matchup. The hope is to at least get him back for a potential Sunday game against Saint Mary’s or Vanderbilt.

“We need to get him healthy,” Oats said via Hey Coach. “Not sure he’ll be ready by Friday. We’re hoping, at a minimum, he’d be ready by Sunday with the possibility of Friday… We dodged one. It wasn’t anything too serious with his knee but will for sure be questionable for that first game on Friday.”
