Rob and Amber...

I apologize to all of you fans of these two but I lost all respect for them after they did not even stop to find out if the brothers were okay after flipping their jeep. They were my fave to win but now, I hope they just go away. What a couple of creeps.

I have hated those two early on since Rob showed what an a**hole he was. And she is no better than him......I dont care who wins as long as it isnt Rob and " Ambuh "

I can see how y'all would feel that way. I was disappointed in them too, not because they didn't stop, but because the right thing to do would've been to ask whether or not they were OK and if there was anything they could do.

On the other hand, I'm certain it's the production crew that gets paid to render assistance if/when it's needed. I mean, after all, the camera was still rolling. The cameraman didn't see fit to turn off his camera and render assistance, why should the competitors? If anything, the whole scene was exploited by showing it at all....unless it was apparent there were no injuries, which obviously there were not. Let's remember who's making the real money in all of this: the producers/creators of the show. Let's also not forget that these shows get edited for "effect."

Just my .02.

I've never had any respect for Rob and Amber since Survivor anyway, but last night was the straw that broke the camel's back. I hope they fall off a cliff somewhere during the race, and the sooner the better.

I hope either Ron and Kelly, the older couple, or the black couple wins. They're all trying to win, but at least they have hearts.

I agree with whoever it was that said Rob is an a**h***
:p :mad2:

Thank you. Someone with some real insight on what the show is all about. It's a race and it's a game.

At Daytona do all the other cars stop and everyone jump out to see if the driver is ok when there is a wreck? NO! Was there already assistance there? Duh, who was running the camera? Think they might have communication with outside assistance? Duh, more than likely. How do you think the brothers got another ride after the wreck? What more could Rob and Amber do? Stand around and flap their arms like the gay guys? Think they may have edited a part out where they ask their camera man if they should stop? Think Rob and Amber might have a camera man with some kind of cell phone or something with him too? Nah! We get to see Rob and Amber in their vehicle by magic ROFL. They were in 6th place and Rob and Amber saw a way to pass some people ahead of them.

This isn't The Amazing Race starring Barney and Captain Kangaroo. These people are competing for real prizes. I'm sure they are told up front what the rules are, what the risks are, what kind of assistance is on site in case a stunt goes bad. Notice there was a team there to rescue the old woman when she fell in the cave. The black couple didn't go back to help them find their clue they missed. Does it make them at fault the woman fell?

Notice the host when Rob and Amber reached the pit stop ask if they stopped at the accident? Did he say they should have? Did he add any penalty to them for not stopping? Did anyone see an official throw a yellow flag? ;) And what about that mean ol gay couple who wouldn't let Rob and Amber ride with them? Was Rob and Amber the only ones who didn't give the old couple anything? No, the brothers didn't give them anything either. The rest just gave $5-10. The black couple did give up some clothes to them.

The producers cast people so there will be teams different audience groups will cheer for and against. That is what builds their ratings. Should the token hero or cute couple win every time or the team that plays with the most integrety win every time? That would make the outcome pretty predictable and not worth watching IMO. Back on Survivor I hated Rob and Amber but hated the rest of the cast for being too stupid to vote them off before it was too late. Remember Johnny Fairplay? There was a guy everyone loved to hate. And Rupert, he had to get the people's vote to win his money. Isn't that like Auburn? LOL :D I did like Rupert. ;)

I just don't have a problem with what Rob and Amber did.

I just can't make myself pull for Rob & Amber. Didn't care for them in Survivor, and don't care for them in Amazing Race! Personally, I don't think it would have made much difference (time wise) for Rob to roll down his window, ask if everything was ok, then resume the race.

One thing -- those two are a fit for each other, that's for sure. Robs yankee dialect drives me nuts! :eek2:

That reminds me of this little test I took last week. Yankee or Dixie

My results? 87% (Dixie). Yea, I'm just a southern girl!

But you're watching, right? And this couple, like them or not, are compelling; their antics generate water cooler talk (and message boards talk) and that generates folks tuning in, which generates ratings, which pulls in more advertisers, which means more money....and so on.

Like it or not, here we sit, having feelings about how these teams conduct themselves and talking about it amongst ourselves. Personally, I LOVE that! Here's an example of how sucked in I get: The finish to the second episode last night where the barner brothers (Brian & Greg) beat out Deana & Ray (thank goodness!) in that footrace was awesome! I was pulling for them despite not wanting to. They were the underdog due to their earlier mishap, and it was great tv to see them come against the odds and avoid being eliminated. It was the one time in my life I didn't mind living vicariously through a Barner!

Keep watching!

Oh come on! That Barner husband of yours got you drunk and made you cheer for them. :D

I forgot they were Barners. I was cheering for them too. Ol' do-rag and do-nuthinbutgripe is finally gone. :)

I would love to see Rob and Amber and the gay couple in the finals just for the drama. I think that would be one of the funniest shows they ever had. I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Not a realistic comparision Bayou. In auto racing, the danger of a wreck is an accepted realistic danger that adds part of the allure to it and that all drivers are aware of. Not so in this case..........

Looked fair to me. Key word "RACE". ;)

I'm sure all the contestants were made aware there were certain risks in this "Game" also and had to sign certain wavers etc. Survivor, Amazing Race, Fear Factor, Dog Eat Dog, they all have a certain element of risk in them and you can bet they have close support in the event of an accident. That is what seems to be what some of you are missing. Let the pros take care of the mishaps and continue on with the game. Maybe Rob and Amber having been on Survivor TWICE already had that part figured out.

Was a little surprised to see Brian and Greg booted last night. Goodness, they wasted so much time at the first water tower though. I really thought the boot would go to Meredith & Gretchen (aka, the "old couple")! :D

I told my husband the brothers would be done in by their waste of time, first at the tower, then changing clothes! Too bad...they were fun to watch. Meredith and Gretchen SO need to go. They whine and complain more than any older couple that's ever been on TAR. Right now I'm most impressed by Uchenna & Joyce's ability to work as a team. Rob & Amber are a given...they're old pros at working together to "do in" other, less-game-savvy folks. :cool2:

IMO the three teams most deserving to win are:

Rab & Ambah - They are old pros and do work as a team. They also have taken the show to a different level with their tactics. Like them or not, they are a real force to be reconed with.

Lynn & Alex - Am i the only one who has recognized the sneaky little mean streak in these two? They may be gay but they are entertaining and quite apt. They work as a team as well.

Uchenna and Joyce - Another couple who work comfortably as a team. These two have risen quickly in my pecking order. Add the fact they are in Africa and loving it, they are on a roll.

Those three are dead even with me right now.

Meredeth & Gretchen - If I never have to listen to them whine again it will be too soon. Wish I was still that fit but glad I don't sound like them. It's amazing they made it another week.

Ron & Kelly - They are just not a team. The pressure will do them in I'm afraid.
