I totally agree!!!ga_tide_fan said:I apologize to all of you fans of these two but I lost all respect for them after they did not even stop to find out if the brothers were okay after flipping their jeep.
I've never had any respect for Rob and Amber since Survivor anyway, but last night was the straw that broke the camel's back. I hope they fall off a cliff somewhere during the race, and the sooner the better.ga_tide_fan said:I apologize to all of you fans of these two but I lost all respect for them after they did not even stop to find out if the brothers were okay after flipping their jeep. They were my fave to win but now, I hope they just go away. What a couple of creeps.
Thank you. Someone with some real insight on what the show is all about. It's a race and it's a game.SavannahDare said:I can see how y'all would feel that way. I was disappointed in them too, not because they didn't stop, but because the right thing to do would've been to ask whether or not they were OK and if there was anything they could do.
On the other hand, I'm certain it's the production crew that gets paid to render assistance if/when it's needed. I mean, after all, the camera was still rolling. The cameraman didn't see fit to turn off his camera and render assistance, why should the competitors? If anything, the whole scene was exploited by showing it at all....unless it was apparent there were no injuries, which obviously there were not. Let's remember who's making the real money in all of this: the producers/creators of the show. Let's also not forget that these shows get edited for "effect."
Just my .02.
But you're watching, right? And this couple, like them or not, are compelling; their antics generate water cooler talk (and message boards talk) and that generates folks tuning in, which generates ratings, which pulls in more advertisers, which means more money....and so on.BamaLuver said:I just can't make myself pull for Rob & Amber. Didn't care for them in Survivor, and don't care for them in Amazing Race!

Like it or not, here we sit, having feelings about how these teams conduct themselves and talking about it amongst ourselves. Personally, I LOVE that! Here's an example of how sucked in I get: The finish to the second episode last night where the barner brothers (Brian & Greg) beat out Deana & Ray (thank goodness!) in that footrace was awesome! I was pulling for them despite not wanting to. They were the underdog due to their earlier mishap, and it was great tv to see them come against the odds and avoid being eliminated. It was the one time in my life I didn't mind living vicariously through a Barner!
Keep watching!
Looked fair to me. Key word "RACE".BigTex said:At Daytona do all the other cars stop and everyone jump out to see if the driver is ok when there is a wreck? NO! Was there already assistance there?
Not a realistic comparision Bayou. In auto racing, the danger of a wreck is an accepted realistic danger that adds part of the allure to it and that all drivers are aware of. Not so in this case..........

I'm sure all the contestants were made aware there were certain risks in this "Game" also and had to sign certain wavers etc. Survivor, Amazing Race, Fear Factor, Dog Eat Dog, they all have a certain element of risk in them and you can bet they have close support in the event of an accident. That is what seems to be what some of you are missing. Let the pros take care of the mishaps and continue on with the game. Maybe Rob and Amber having been on Survivor TWICE already had that part figured out.

yes! hate to say it but the old couple is next.....
I told my husband the brothers would be done in by their waste of time, first at the tower, then changing clothes! Too bad...they were fun to watch. Meredith and Gretchen SO need to go. They whine and complain more than any older couple that's ever been on TAR. Right now I'm most impressed by Uchenna & Joyce's ability to work as a team. Rob & Amber are a given...they're old pros at working together to "do in" other, less-game-savvy folks. :cool2:BamaLuver said:Was a little surprised to see Brian and Greg booted last night. Goodness, they wasted so much time at the first water tower though. I really thought the boot would go to Meredith & Gretchen (aka, the "old couple")!![]()
