Heck, I remember deer rifles in gun racks in the school parking lot, large pocket knives that were no big deal to carry, and one guy having a pistol in his locker because he wanted to show it to a buddy. Granted, this was a rural HS in the late '80's. It was just a bunch of good old boys showing off toys and no one thought a thing of it that I can recall.
Same when I was in school in the late 80's... Heck, we'd sharpen pencils with a pocket knife instead of walking over to the sharpener.

Back when Revenge of the Ninja was on HBO, I got busted with a throwing star that I bought at the flea market. Ms Sherrer saw me showing it to my buddy during social studies. She took it from me then gave it back after school, telling me that she would be very disappointed if I brought it back. I never did.

Different times I guess.

Four Xacto blades and some tape makes for a decently fun and dangerous facsimile.

Two straws from any restaurant, some cellophane tape, and a straight pin makes a pretty decent blowgun, too. The trick is to wrap the tape around the pin into a cone shape the exact diameter of the inside of the straw.

And you can make a miniature crossbow out of a bobby pin, some sewing thread, an alligator clip, and a pencil. It will shoot bolts made of matchsticks with pins taped to them.

Of all of these, the blowgun works the best.
The crossbow is pretty weak, but more interesting.

Ah, a man well versed in the art of educational warfare I see. Friend...brother.

Hell, they were doing that when I was in high school, and I graduated in 99.

Those are great when you have time to build complicated weapons. But the art of guerrilla warfare calls for using what's available and easiest to build.
I like one of the simplest weapons around. A paper clip opened up until it has only one bend in it. That used with decent sized rubber band makes a great little "bow and arrow". :biggrin2:

I have a .22 rifle from my grandfather that he was given in HS for winning some kind FFA event.

When I was in HS they tried to suspend on of the students for having a tire iron in the bed of his truck. Thank the Lord that school now has new administration.
