Just figured it was time to start a thread dedicated to the prospects that we already have on board. It'd be great to tack this thing to the top and we can add to it as guys jump on board. I'm just going to post a few thoughts I have on each of these guys, feel free to add whatever you want to this thread.

Tremayne Coger - This guy has the tools to be a great cornerback at the University of Alabama. Has blazing speed and is also a potential threat for us in the future as a PR/KR. Loves Alabama and will bleed Crimson for us.

Andy Davis - Our first commit for the 2006 class, Andy set the tone on the recruiting trail. He also does it on the football field. This guy plays with a mean streak and can hit like a MACK truck. Get ready to have some fun watching him light up opponents during his career here.

Preston Dial - I love his size and was impressed by both his blocking and his athleticism from watching him in the state title game. Should arrive at Alabama as more of a 'complete package' than any TE we have recruited the past few years. Great frame to add size and be an intimidating presence on the football field.

Mike Ford - Wow is just about all you can say here. Anyone who has seen his film will agree with that. Bama showed him some love for sticking with him even through the grade trouble, now he's showing us some love by sticking with us in return. Has all the makings of the next great Bama running back.

Charlie Higgenbotham - Another hard hitter who has great sideline-to-sideline ability, just what you need in a MLB. Get well soon, Charlie, and get ready to make us proud. Another Bama kid who will bleed Crimson for us. Did I mention he will hit you? Seems to play with a mean streak, similar to Davis in that respect.

LaBronski Hutchins - LaBronski, come on bud, stick with us. Bring along your buddy Michael while you're at it. This guy is probably the athletic freak of our recruiting class right now who after some work in the weight room will be a very nice WLB for us. Has the frame to hold 215-220 lbs by the time he is a redshirt sophomore and play similar to Juwan Simpson (very similar to Juwan in build and athleticism).

Marquis Johnson - Big, physical corner with good hips. Has loved Bama for as long as they have been recruiting them. He already has the Bama attitude down, saying earlier this year about Bama's opponents, "Every school we play against I hate with a passion. I don't care who it is, I don't like them. I know Auburn is the big rival and I don't know much about them, but I hate them and everybody else we'll play."

Charlie Kirschman - An intimidating presence on the football field, Kirschman already has very good size and moves pretty well for a guy his size. He could become a very solid linebacker for us or even a great pass-rusher at defensive end. Loves Alabama and wants to bring his buddy Tim with him. Bring him along, Charlie.

Brian Motley - Could be an integral part of our team as a center or a defensive tackle. I look for him to play DT at Alabama. Bottom line: he loves contact, and moreso loves to hit people, whether he's on offense or defense. Great competitor. Has a great attitude. Doesn't care what he plays, he just wants to get on the field.

Taylor Pharr - Has a great frame to develop into a very nice OL for us, at either tackle or guard. Most likely a tackle. Has very good athleticism and has a frame that can hold another 25 or 30 lbs pretty easily. One of the Bama boys that has been with us from early on. One piece of a big-time OL class that will seriously upgrade our overall talent at that position.

David Ross - Unbelievably athletic and versatile linemen. He already has very good size and could even be ready to contribute immediately upon arriving at UA. Will make one hell of a guard or even a center for Alabama. Has been recruiting and rooting hard for Alabama since he made his trip to the Arkansas game, and finally committed after the Florida game. He has a buddy named Tim also that he's going to try and get down here.

Alex Stadler - Big time tackle that will along with Taylor and David really upgrade that position. I imagine he will play RT for the Tide and will arrive as a punishing run-blocker as is. Physically, he is capable of getting on the field early as well and will push every tackle on our roster to get on the field. Was awed by the Alabama fans and tradition during his visits and speaks glowingly of Bama whenever he is interviewed.

Nikita Stover - The forgotten man of the class. Come about three months from now he certainly won't be, though. I expect Nikita will jump on the field and immediately get on the field, a lot. Great speed, great hands, bleeds Crimson with a passion. Often talks about not being able to wait to run out of the tunnel with that Crimson jersey on. Will be here after finals to practice with the team and will turn heads early. All our receivers will get better as a result of his presence/competition.

Well, there you have it (as of now). Like I said, feel free to add whatever you want, from a personal story to observations to just thanks for jumping on board, but remember, it's an APPRECIATION thread.

well done, Ping...

From what I hear, Pharr has been hitting the training really hard and ought to be in great shape come next summer. I believe Ross is going to get on a similar program. I've heard Pharr works with Curtis Dawson's trainer, couldn't confirm it or tell you a name though. Gotta love the dedication already.

LaBronski, hit those books bud.....we need you to be a fast OLB for us.

Travis Sikes, Sam Burnthall, and Cole Harvey.....haven't heard tons about them but I appreciate them volunteering to greyshirt and paying their own way for a semester. I know they've been hitting the weights and that Cole is going to give FB a go.

Two names stick out to me from an offensive standpoint. Nikita Stover and David Ross.

Our offensive line depth is really pathetic. I expect Ross to get here and be the #2 guard behind our current starters.

The news of Nikita is about as good as it gets. Oh boy do we need a WR who can step up opposite of Prothro/Hall. Nikita can be that flanker we've been looking for. If Nikita is as good as you mentioned, then we can line up Prothro "anywhere" on the field as a "match up specialist". Prothro lines up in the backfield, Prothro goes in motion to right, defense shifts put a LB on Prothro, Prothro for a TD! Oh man this is really exciting.

As always you and Surf and the other Mods do a great job. If we get Ford in he will be a huge impact. Does he have a redshirt year he can use?
yes, he can redshirt if the staff thinks he needs to....Zo and Fanney did after coming from Hargrave.

Earlier this year I had talked with someone whose son plays for Mt Brook. He had great things to say about Higgenbotham. He said even though his size, weight, speed, etc. are average right now, the guy finds the ball EVERY play. He just appears in middle of the pile every down. He said it was almost unnatural.

I truly believe this guy is gonna be our model of Devin Hester, I have been saying this from day one. I dont think fast is the word for him line him up somewhere and let the guy make a play.

One of the most impressive things about Brian is his leadership. He has taken great pride in being the first person in his school to sign with a SEC school. The other kids in the program obviously look up to him, and he has set the tone during summer workouts, and practice all season. He is very coachable, and will give maximum effort. Yet another fine representative of the talent in this part of the country!

Mike McCoy - Great WR pickup for Alabama out of Mississippi. Has very good size and is very fast, particularly for his stature. Will give us a great physical presence at the LOS and will be good at getting off of bump coverage. Also has speed to be a deep threat. Looking forward to seeing him in Crimson. Not to mention this is one more we won from the Barn.

Justin Woodall - Continues Bama's raid of the state of Mississippi that began with nabbing Jimmy Johns last year. Nose for the football who intercepted 16 passes as a junior in high school. Tremendous athlete who also plays QB for his high school team, but will more than likely spend his entire career at the Capstone on defense, either at safety or LB. Will look great in Crimson! Way to go, Justin. Welcome to T-town!

Great opinion and insight, Ping. Couldn't agree more about Mike Ford. If his grades can be managed, I really think this guy could have a major impact on the field for us immediately. Can you imagine the one-two punch of having him and KD in the same backfield?!

Earl Alexander - Great size and athleticism (6'4, 200, 4.45). Will get his first look at QB but most likely will play WR for the Tide in the long run. With hard work, he has a chance to be a special one, too. Could be that big, physical, WR that the Tide needs. Welcome to the Tide, Earl.

Marquis Johnson is a gem. I read an article on him earlier today and he just has an amazing attitude and is going to make us proud as a University of Alabama football player IMO. Says that he wants to come in and win awards for being the hardest working player on the team and stuff like that. I can't wait for this guy to suit up in Crimson, and from the way he talks, he can hardly wait either.

In hearing several things he's said this year, he has reminded me a lot of CR from last year... hope they both end up being cornerstones for us at the CB spots for years to come.
