Here is the updated list after the May evaluations and Summer camps. Prospects with Bama offers that are committed to other schools are not listed. Prospects with Bama offers that do not list Bama among their favorites and show low or no interest in Alabama are not listed. It looks like Bama will have somewhere between 15 - 17 scholarships to give out to prospects for 2007.

That is just an early list of 2007 prospects that have expressed an interest in Alabama. Bama is expected to sign somewhere around 17 players to scholarships next year. These are just some of the early candidates.
 
hearing from some of the visitors at A-Day....

Ryan Williams seems like he'd commit with an offer, as would McGaskin I believe.

Alfred McCullough has us as an early leader. Would be a great start to the DT class with he and Kerry Murphy with us as leaders.

It would certainly be cool if all those names signed early. I always like the guys who sign early because it shows how committed to the university they are. But when those players are also some of the most talented recruits in the South, that's gotta be a good sign.
 
BamaOnline reports that Chris Walker an OLB from Memphis visited Bama and came away with an offer. He's listed at 6'4" 220 with a 4.55 forty:eek:
RTO or Surf, do you have any info on this guy? If those numbers are right, he could be a beast at LB. Looks like CMS and staff are hot on the trail of several good LBs, which is good because we really need them.:biggrin:

How come Ross Wilson was not offered a scholarship??? i've heard good thing about the kid plus his bro is playing for us... that should be a lock...!!! :confused:
 
Ross Wilson measuring in at 5' 10 1/2 (could hit a spurt like big brother though)has kept the offers from flowing in I suppose. I think that CMS is headed in a bigger direction. Of course Doug Flutie had a good career at 5'9.
 
We are in a serious numbers crunch for Feb. '07. Quite frankly, I haven't figured it out yet.

By the roster, we have 16 seniors. Two of them, Barger and Kilpatrick, I'm not sure if they are on scholly or not. (looking to find out).

I've heard we'll sign 17-18 in Feb. But, I can't see where those opening are...well, except for 14 of them. So, that leads me to believe we are going to deal with some attrition...whether it is players giving up on football or someone leaving early for the NFL draft.

Unless we get a "top notch" QB, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign one next year. One, at the most, that's for sure. We need help in a few areas...LB, DL, WR...just to name a few and you always want to pull 3-5 OL in, IMO.

I missed that one. I added him to my list. I don't know much about him. He has Alabama, LSU, ND, and Miami interested so he must be pretty good especially to get an offer from Bama this early.

Two guys with Bama offers can be taken off the list now with Brantley committing to Texas, and Todd Campbell committing to Phat Phil and UcheaT.

sounds like a rush end to me....came away impressed at A-Day....

not surprising that either of those happened.....
 
I saw Chris Walker at the game, and was wondering who he was. I also recognized Jaron Norfleet. We sat right next to the visitors' section. I hate that I couldn't recognize more of them.

my best "feel" right now, if 17 is the #....

QB: 1
RB: 1
WR: 2
OL: 3
DL: 3-4
LB: 3
DB: 2-3
and maybe one floating wild card

#'s may get effected by class of 2006 attrition, as in does Ford and Udell make it or Heaven forbid unexpected attrition.

and at first glance at the class of 2008, I only see 16-18 slots with seniors leaving then right now......
