Question: 2012 Presidential Race- Electoral College Prediction

Just curious what people think the election returns will look like 6 months from now. I like to make predictions in things that are often so unpredictable a few months out to see how things pan out. Conventional wisdom is saying a close race will happen. I rarely go with that so I'll start the ball rolling and go 321-217 for Romney. I don't think 2010 was some fluke. I think the Dems overreached big-time with their agenda of "fundamental transformation" for America.

It'll be a lot closer than that differential.

I picked Obama over Romney over 6 months ago. I'll stand by that. 280-258.

The electoral prediction. Even if Romney wins, which I don't think he does, I don't see him getting over 300 electoral votes.

Colorado
Nevada
Florida
Ohio
Pennsylvania
New Hampshire
Iowa
Virginia
North Carolina

Personally I see Wisconsin and New Mexico in that toss-up category as well.

If Obama sweeps Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia he will win (even if he loses all other swing states). I think he wins all 3.

Take a look at the map he sent, imagine how easy it would be to get there, and then remember New Hampshire. You might want to reconsider your bet.

Nobody's taken it, and $1000 would be a small price to pay for him to be out of office.

I'm afraid we'll be stuck with O for another four years, but I'd also be pretty afraid to have ol' Mitt for four years (mostly because I'm not sure who we'd be getting, really). Unless Mitt finds a way to be sincerely more appealing to the centrists, he won't win.
