Absolutely. If Pruitt is hired and Fulmer insists he takes Martin as his OC then Fulmer has his own built in snitch and will undermine Pruitt. Plus I could see Fulmer attending every practice putting in his recommendations. The OD this morning was propping up the notion that Tee Martin could be the choice at UT because it would allow Phat Phil to pretty much have a puppet coach. Anyone think there's validity to that?
I think that’s what Phattius has had up his sleeve the whole time. Hire a HC to straighten out the mess somewhat and start building things up, and insist they hire Martin as the OC during that time (so he can be Phattius’ little snitch in the locker room). Then right at the time of beginning to reap the rewards from the hard work of the HC, fire the HC and promote Martin and have his puppet coach doing his bidding, and taking the credit for the success. A conspiracy theory, but one that falls right in line with the tendencies of the supreme orange puke!Absolutely. ducks would be a good situation for either, not imagining mcelwain fitting there - but they seem to have had an identity crisis since chip left, so who knowsSaw Justin Wilcox the HC at Cal mentioned for the Oregon job. Another one year and done. IIRC he either played at Oregon or coached there at some point. Do either Kiffin or McIlwain get any consideration for the Oregon or SMU openings?
The state of TEXAS has tons of talent and A&M and TEXAS do not seem to be getting them all, as their records show. SMU should still have good guys to choose from. Florida is a good base of HS players and more than a few good programs snapping them up.ducks would be a good situation for either, not imagining mcelwain fitting there - but they seem to have had an identity crisis since chip left, so who knows
smu has an older football program, but it took me a minute to remember which conference they were in... looking at smu and fau, there’s marginal differences between the athletic departments and conferences - neither in really great financial shape - links below.
I’d argue kiffin would be better off at fau with 1) already there, and 2) number one state for recruiting (tough recruiting competition in both states)

https://twitter.com/abc/status/939166164877316096Good hire for the Ducks IMO.When 70 players sign a petition for a guy to get the job, things will be awkward if said guy doesn't get the job.

Weak move by the AD unless they were already wanting Cristobal. When 70 players sign a petition for a guy to get the job, things will be awkward if said guy doesn't get the job.
He was already a candidate for the job. Don't think the AD caved to the players or anything. I hope not at least.Weak move by the AD unless they were already wanting Cristobal.
We'll see how he does. I'll keep my thoughts regarding his OL catching to myself...
He's a good recruiter, no idea how he'll do as a HC.
Excellent? His record at FIU was 27-47:Cristobal was an excellent coach at FIU. No reason to think he can't do it again.
The 2012 season was bad, but I remember the majority of journalists having the same reaction to FIU's firing: "What are you doing?"Excellent? His record at FIU was 27-47:

I get that it was FIU, but in six seasons he had two (barely) winning seasons and was fired after he went 3-9 in his sixth season.
I get it - but how many years does it take to be even remotely competitive in FBS?The 2012 season was bad, but I remember the majority of journalists having the same reaction to FIU's firing: "What are you doing?"
