I literally posted that gif on FB when an Arky friend announced the hire.

I googled him and am still unsure as to why they would be anything but livid about the hire. LOL
The only thing I can think of is that Arky have always been predicated on line play, so they wanted a line coach.

And yes, I'm reaching. At the same time, he's already established in the SEC, already has recruiting ties, and let's face it, Arky wasn't going to land a name coach.

And as I type that, I hear that Mizzou hired Eli Drinkwitz of Appy State.

Don't understand the Arky hire.....Kendall Briles and Rich Rod out there to poach. Looking like Jeff Lebby will take the Ole Miss positon instead of Briles. I'm guessing Briles wants to be a head coach.

Sounds like Dabo may have to deal with a little transition in the staff for a change

On the Sark front....that’s an agent ploy. Colorado St. is like the stepping stone spot for SEC assistants to get their first HC gig. Sark doesn’t really need that. Unless he just wants out from Bama or away from Saban I’m thinking he’s going to get a raise and stay with us another year. If he has another solid year he’d get better offers IMO.

The Arkansas boards claim that the players absolutely adore this guy and would run through a wall for him. It's being celebrated as a hire that will return Arkansas to tough, hard-nosed football.

We shall see. For my part it's a head-scratcher.

It’s definitely an...unorthodox hire. But wasn’t Dabo hired as a WR coach? Our players loved him when he was here and if he never left for Georgia I think Bielema eventually works out at Arkansas. Best recruiter and OL coach in college football IMO. Definitely need to give him a lot of money for assistants since he has a lot of SEC connections. We obviously struck out on some guys but seeing what Coach O is doing with LSU probably thought we could do something similar. All we need is someone to stabilize the program, not win the SEC or anything.

It may very well do that, but we've all seen that with the CFP you have got to be able to sling it and score points. I would rather watch bruising running backs and a stout defense all day long, but if you're not scoring 40 points a game you won't be in contention for the title.

Just ask Georgia. Couldn't even score 20 points in SEC Championship.

You don't want to win the SEC...or anything???

Well obviously yes but that's not a realistic goal. We're basically the equivalent of a program dealing with NCAA sanctions right now with how much turnover we've had in the program in the last 5 years. We need some stability, not someone who is going to want to do a quick fix and then leave. If Pittman can leave us better than he found us and allow us to make a bigger hire and have a better roster the next time then he's a perfect bridge option. We're only paying him $3 million but written into his contract is a $750,000 raise every time he wins 8+ games.
