The Alabama Secretary of State debate is supposed to take place October 11th. My Libertarian opponent will be participating, but not Wes "Absent" Allen. He says his schedule is all booked up through the election!

Allen wants to operate in the dark. He refuses to debate me because he doesn't want to admit his objectively backward ideas to the people of Alabama. This is what Allen's plan looks like:
My opponent is actively trying to decrease voter turnout and suppress the voices of Black Alabamians in our election by promising to get rid of the Electronic Registration Information (ERIC) system, which is trusted by most states as the most effective way to perform cross-state voter registration checks, if he's elected on day one.

Removing the State of Alabama from enrollment in ERIC without a contingency plan would leave voter rolls insecure, decrease access to voter registration, and reduce election integrity.

"Absent" Allen doesn't want to draw more attention to this, because the ERIC system has bipartisan support. In fact, Secretary of State John Merrill credits the ERIC system with making our voter registration system more efficient and effective than ever. It allows us to check for duplicate voter registrations across state lines, inaccurate registrations, and deceased voters.
GOP candidates don't want sunshine to expose them for who they are, thus they avoid debates now.

LOL, yeah. It's a race downhill for that senate seat for sure. Out of all the dumb things Trump has done, his endorsement of Oz is one of the biggest what-the-frick moments since he left office. Even the Trumpers were stymied.
I think it's because Oz is a fellow reality TV star and Trump's easily impressed by that...

Oz makes a stupid grocery shopping video and gets widely criticized and ridiculed for it. His opponent does as well. Oz campaign responds by criticizing and ridiculing Fetterman for having had a stroke.

“If John Fetterman had ever eaten a vegetable in his life, then maybe he wouldn’t have had a major stroke and wouldn’t be in the position of having to lie about it constantly,” Rachel Tripp, Oz’s senior communications advisor, said in a statement, which was first reported by Insider.

Fetterman responds:
“I had a stroke. I survived it. I’m truly so grateful to still be here today,” he said. “I know politics can be nasty, but even then, I could *never* imagine ridiculing someone for their health challenges.”

So Ron’s election police have arrested people whose voter registration was APPROVED by local Supervisor of Elections offices. They filled out a voter registration application, RECEIVED their voter registration card, and voted!!

“Washington received a voter registration form in the mail, filled it out and mailed it back to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office,” read an affidavit filed by authorities in Orange County court. “The Orange County Supervisor of Elections mailed him a voter card.”

“Michelle Stribling, a 52-year-old Black woman from Eatonville convicted in 1993 of second degree murder, told investigators during an Aug. 5 interview at her house that she “could not read or write very well,” and did not understand questions related to her status as an ex-felon on registration paperwork. But Orange County election officials mailed her a voter card after she registered, which led her to believe she was able to vote.”

THE STATE DIDN'T DO ITS JOB AND NOW THESE PEOPLE PAY THE PRICE
“Suzy Trutie, the deputy Supervisor of Elections in Miami-Dade County said that when a county gets a registration applications they are forwarded to the state, which uses a series of databases to verify the person’s identity.

“After the verification process has been completed, the State notifies the County that the person’s eligibility has been confirmed,” she said via email. “Finally, the County issues a voter registration card to the elector.”

Alison Novoay, spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Supervisor of elections, said in an email that the state notifies their office when a prospective or registered voter is convicted of a felony or otherwise ineligible. After that, the Supervisor of Elections removes them from their voting lists.”

New Alaska count: Mary Peltola (D) expands lead over Sarah Palin (R) to 16,347 votes. Depending on how many ballots “exhaust,” Palin probably needs 68-70% of Begich second place votes to prevail. It’s going to be close. #AKAL
