It looks like a loaded team. As is normal under Oats, offense will be fine. Whether we make a run at the SEC championship and/or make serious noise in the NCAA will depend on whether we get serious about defense.
Also, the true status of Wrightsell's recovery from the Achilles will be an open question until he's in game action against a good team. It makes a difference whether it was torn or ruptured, but I know nothing about the details of his injury. Either way, those things take a good while to rehab, during which time conditioning can suffer. He tore it in November, and a year might or might not be long enough.
Good news is that we have depth, the best training facilities in the business, and reports are that his rehab is ahead of schedule. Bad news is that the overall record across a larger sample is less encouraging.
I'm cautiously optimistic, especially for later in the season when the team has had a chance to jell. Of course, just about everybody has a lot of roster turnover these days, so jelling is likely an issue for lots of teams.
