2025 Roster Rundown: Offensive Line
by Jess Nicholas, TideFans.com Editor-In-Chief

This week, we take a look at the entire offensive line, all five positions. Given that Alabama rotates linemen between all three roles (center, guard, tackle) throughout the season, predicting an exact depth chart is not only difficult, but nigh impossible, especially at this stage of the year.

No walk-ons are rated in these articles – outside of the Special Teams preview, which will be the final in this series – unless we believe the walk-on in question has a real chance of making the actual playing rotation, not just playing in blowout situations. Players are listed below in the way we believe they finished spring camp. For players who were not yet on the team in the spring, they are listed at the end of their respective categories.

Looks like we have 5 guys who are adequate... 5 guys who can do some things but are a drop off... 5 guys who are mostly developmental possibilities... and 1 guy who is either NFL bound or going to be a huge bust.

Hopefully with weight room time, optimized weights, and good work we can get 7-8 guys ready.

These guys are now getting paid to produce. That adds an interesting dynamic to what has essentially become the football equivalent of AAA ball with university names attached. “ Adequate” probably won’t get you to the Bigs.

My descriptions were probably a bit harsh too. We just aren't going to have the stockpiles of talent that we had under CNS in the new world. I mean heack, CNS would have ultimately worked the system as well as anyone, but it is different.

A more realistic high level review would be to say we have six OL who are starters for us, 5 more guys who will rotate and develop and a couple of them are solid options to step in when needed, and 5 guys who are deep depth and might have a chance to develop over the next couple of years or who will transfer to other places... Not a bad situation overall. If Proctor can finally shed 20 pounds of bad weight and stay healthy, we could have one of the best left OTs in the land, and that is something.

I'm a bit concerned about the TE situation which also affects the OL. Lots of bodies there that don't seem to have much potential. We desperately need Lewis to finally put it all together and stay healthy and help Cuevas out.

I have seen more than one pundit/group have our OL ranked #1 in the nation.
Can’t claim to remember in detail, but I think the Pancake Posse was pretty highly thought of….
BEFORE the season. How’d that turn out? Ended up being the Pancake P…….You guys can use your imagination to fill in the rest.
Hopefully, this group will be cut from a different bolt of cloth, as it were.

Yes... The other thing is that NIL has led to many rosters being depleted as smaller schools tag a couple of guys here and there and the like.

It is going to be a different world. Just look at the 3* recruits on the lists for the top ten schools.

Given that everything starts with the OL and DL... I'll take anyone we can get that will help us there.
