Evidently the crowd became really ugly and obscene toward the Euros. No excuse for that...In fact, the more they harassed McElroy and Lowry, the better they played...especially Lowry. The ugliness awoke Lowry who had not played well and he putted lights out.

The truth is that the Europeans had a stronger and deeper team with more "alpha males" than did the USA. We had lot of nice guys who make so much money that they are not hungry and were resting on their world ranking laurels. If you play 24 tournaments and have 12 top ten finishes -- no wins -- you can make 5 million plus easily.

Scheffler is not like that...but his putting woes the first 3 matches were abysmal. He looked bewildered for most of yesterday and the first part of today.

The conduct of the crowds at professional golf tournaments has become atrocious. I watch a bit of golf anymore but the yells of "USA USA" and "GO in the HOLE! after every swing has me flipping the channel. Rory's win at Augusta this year though was riveting!

Liquid courage always ruins nice things. Apparently, McIlroy's wife was hit with a beer bottle at one point. There should have been an on-camera takedown of whoever did it and a long jail sentence to follow.

We'll see how well-behaved the Europeans are in County Limerick, Ireland in 2027. My guess is it will be very similar based on prior years.

I really don't know what the PGA expects when it goes to NYC. I've not seen a lot of class from the fans of any sport in that city. Philly gets a bad rap but NYC is just as bad for sports towns.

Ireland will be a powder keg -- what with Irish beer flowing from breakfast on.
