My thoughts exactly...intentional? Did one of them have a terminal illness, i.e., other than being a human?
Even the dog went...either accidental, a joint decision, or act of mercy on behalf of one of them.
Just heard on the radio they found his wife in the bathroom next to a heater with some form of prescription pills spilled about. Found Gene in the mud room. Makes me think it may have been CO and Gene was trying to get out of the house but didn’t make it. Sad situation
The deaths occurred over a week ago. The dog was found in his cage so he probably died of dehydration.
I would like to know what the "pills" were the investigators found scattered on the bathroom floor.
In the meantime....how's this for a scenario:
Mr. Hackman has a heart attack and drops to the floor. Mrs. Hackman runs to get his meds from the bathroom. Somehow, in her panicked state, she trips and falls....hitting her head......and never recovers from the blow to her brain. As already stated, the dog, trapped in a crate, eventually dies from dehydration.

The coroner said that there was not any trauma to either body. I would think if she hit her head hard enough to kill her she would at least have some sign of head trauma.
