I would assume (hope) this is a depth take. He’s barely top 500
This isn't a shot at you. People you need to go watch Tape and look at the measurements people tell you from camps. This kid had a Meniscus injury after 3 games. hes 5'11" 215 ringing 4.4-4.5. rankings arent final they have an entire senior year. this entire process has been sped up to like Texas use to be with Mack brown. Thats fine but you better be on with your evaluations. Look at DJU and imagine how much he would've made today being a top 5 player. JJ Finch just got invited to the Navy game and was a priority for Michigan Miami etc will not stay a 3 star is what im saying. enjoy the ride

Gotta let go of what you used to know about recruiting.he came to camp, worked out and from all reports blew it up. Ran a 4.4 and was teammates with Justin Hill fwiw and had players pushing hard to get him commited.
To your point, here is a recent review of Kelley. BTW, Cam Calhoun also went to his high school along with Justin Hill. Moving on up....

"Kelley was fantastic at the Under Armour Regional in the spring. He was 6-foot-3 1/2, 180 pounds with a 4.49 laser forty and 4.34 shuttle. Those are elite numbers. Having seen him on film and 7-on-7, we know he can cover ground quickly whether that's to get to a ball in the air or to close on a running back. He has great physical traits and showed instincts also. He has some filling in to do but that's the easy part. For Rutgers, adding high-end traits like his to the secondary is important and this is a kid who also made a lot of plays for a good team against good competition. For Rutgers, he projects as a rangy center field their type of free safety, which fits in well with this class given the other back end talent the Scarlet Knights have. He has slightly different dimensions and style play than their other two safeties they are bringing in."

3* WR Owen Cabell who showed out at camp earlier this month is announcing on 6/30 and I added him to the commitment list. His comments are below and I think we look good for him. He is tall and can run.
  • 5-star RB Ezavier Crowell - June 26
  • 4-star TE Mack Sutter - June 26
  • 4-star OT Malachi Lee - June 27
  • 4-star IOL Deacon Schmitt - June 28
  • 5-star LB Xavier Griffin - June 29
  • 3-star WR Owen Cabell - June 30
  • 5-star WR Cederian Morgan - July 2
  • 4-star DL Emanuel Ruffin - July 4
  • 5-star S Jireh Edwards - July 5
  • 4-star LB Nick Abrams II - July 16
"I think there's a standard, obviously," he told Bama247 after that memorable trip. "That's Alabama's whole thing. Everyone who goes there lives up to it and they are all on the same page throughout the building. We were walking through and even the defensive coordinator came up to me and told me I did great at camp. It was probably like five minutes after camp. They all knew already. I think it's just crazy how on the same page everyone is really set up to the mission. Just super cool."

That's right. Wondering how many WR we are taking in this class? If we get commitments from Morgan, Cabell and Williams there is still Boobie Feaster and the kid from Louisiana we are heavily pursuing.
Getting Morgan likely rules out feaster. Just can't spend all your revenue share at one position and on freshmen. So unless boobie will take less in revenue share, 3 is likley it for this cycle. Portal if others are needed.

If anyone is too caught up on 3 stars. I dont think Brian williams will remain a 3 star by February.

Too many people complain were taking in too many 3 stars, but fail to realize that Bama under Saban did same thing and we will see several players get their fourth and fifth stars this fall.

If I recall, he had a bunch of nobody offers and the OU until CNS offered.

He was flying way under the radar.
You're exactly right. To tell you how good CNS and staff were at evaluating, Coach Burns went and watched him play basketball of all things and told CNS that we had to offer him.

A three star in June isn’t necessarily one in December or February let alone come fall camp. As a few posters have said these guys will rise in the ranks.

The likes of Eddie Jackson and Josh Jacob would have undoubtedly been 4 stars had they been discovered earlier in the process and been evaluated further.
