2026 - They died this year

Dash Crofts, the surviving half of Seals and Crofts, has reportedly died. His passing was confirmed by Louie Shelton, who produced the '70s hitmakers.

Seals and Crofts split in the early '80s, before briefly reuniting in the '90s and '00s. "Around 1980, we were still drawing 10,000 to 12,000 people at concerts" Seals later told the Los Angeles Times, "but we could see, with this change coming where everybody wanted dance music, that those days were numbered."

Dash Crofts eventually returned to his native Texas, where he raised horses late in life. His lone solo album, 1998's Today, included some updated Seals and Crofts material. Jim Seals, the older brother of Danny "England Dan" Seals, died in 2022.

Henry Lee has passed.

(I'll struggle to be nice).

Henry Lee was a forensic scientist who testified in the OJ Simpson murder trial. He was more full of it than a Christmas turkey (and he knew it), and the parrots on that pathetic jury recited his "something is wrong" mantra as he skewered the blood evidence.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lee was found liable for fabricating evidence in a Connecticut murder case in 2023 that resulted in the overturning of convictions of two men.

The man may well have been a solid forensic scientist, but he and Barry Scheck (of the not so pristine Innocence Project) worked on the verbiage for weeks to give the jury a bumper sticker the acquit a man both knew damn well killed two people.

I won't celebrate his passing, and he besmirched his reputation, but at one time he was an accomplished forensic scientist.

This one is sad.

You may not remember the name, but I'm sure most of you remember the guy disappearing for more than 24 hours just before Super Bowl 37. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. And sadly, it won't shock me if it is revealed in coming days it is a suicide.
