Likely more than a depth piece. He's probably gonna compete to be our starting center. He was just a freshman this year and played sparingly, but the little tape he did put up was fairly impressive. He's a bit of an unknown, but I think the staff really likes this kid, and there are a lot of similarities to Brailsford.

He is the son of a center as well, and his dad actually played for Coach Saban at Michigan State.
I see him competing for best five spots. I don't think he's a depth. All I know is that he's an upgrade compared to what we had recently.

I don't know how much depth any team can have anymore....your starters get paid, your bench wants to get paid so they go find a program that will pay them because they were 2nd string at Bama. Everybody will have depth almost fully comprised of incoming freshmen.

But yes, he's an upgrade compared to what we've had.

Ross was the #3 player in Alabama, #1 Edge, and #9 overall player in the country for the 2024 class according to the composite. for some reason , he didn't have any interest in Bama coming out of HS.
let's see where is heart is this time around.

I don't think any of these kids have their "heart" in mind in these transfer decisions.....unless by "heart" you meant "bank account"

So you’re saying he’s an upgrade over Brailsford?

Brailsford is good from a technical standpoint but gets blown up too often. Size issue.
Im not so sure it's just a size issue, I think it's a strength problem, I was at the game against Eastern Illinois, despite us winning, we were getting blown up & pushed around at the LOS on both sides of the ball by lesser talent that game..

It felt like the Shula Era at the game sadly..

I don't see Coleman signing with Alabama regardless of who the QB, or WR coach is. I think he signs with TAMU, UGA, LSU, Texas or Southern Cal, or some other program that will offer him the most money. Our time and money would be better spent on signing OL, DL, and LBs.

If its money....then he'll sign with Texas Tech. Especially since they are desperate for offensive production now.

That sounds not only like a strength problem but a technique issue. Or even possibly the offense tipping off the play.

I agree & think it's a combination of both, it was depressing watching that win in person, toooooo many times I watched our boy's on both sides of the LOS..

Get stood up with zero push against smaller & more inferior players in front of them..

It made me have flashbacks of when Bucket Step Bob Connelly coaching our OLine & our boy's should always overpower Eastern Illinois no matter the technique they're taught..Period

Its an attitude thing too, they have to want to destroy the guy across the line from them.

Visiting today?

OL - Jacarrius Peak from NC State
OL - DJ Chester from LSU

Hopefully we get both. Peak sounds like he'd wind up at LT. Chester played 2024 at C, so he's got C experience.

Also hope Ethan Stangle from Syracuse makes his commitment. He'd be our new LS.

Adam Watford from UNA would be our new punter. Come on down kid.

Jimothy Lewis visited earlier this week, he would be in contention for that LT spot as well if he transfers in.

We need all those guys, hope they all decide to come to Bama.
