Let’s cut that in half and say he signed for $1 million and a scholarship for a family member. Where do you rank Formby in the SEC as far as offensive linemen? That’s what this staff is up against when it comes to brining in talent from the portal. So when the man tells you to temper your expectations it’s not because they can’t evaluate, it’s because they barely have a leg in this rear end kicking contest.

Who says they havent? The majority of our best players are all either guys DeBoer brought with him from Washington or guys who this staff evaluated and recruited. Neither Keelon Russell nor Lottie Brooks wee highly ranked when the staff found.tbem. London Simmons is another example of a hidden gem they found. I'm just not understanding this narrative that this staff can't evaluate. It's pretty clear to me that they're very good at it. We just gotta be patient while they bring the guys along they've already found.

That’s cool but ultimately it’s based upon nothing but having a positive outlook with no examples to back up why that outlook has justification.

Not the first time coaching hiring/ firing has been done after a specific deadline that involves players.

The word is that staff changes will be made after the portal additions. Better to have OL and other position coaches on staff to help recruiting rather than players not being able to meet their potential position coach.

One of the worst offensive linemen I've seen play at Alabama and even though K.P. won some accolades this season on the other side (probably for catching passes) he was garbage too. The whole line was garbage IMHO. P.B. was kinda solid and the guards were complete garbage as well.

I think with the young nucleus of our Oline Carr, Lloyd, Sanders, and portal additions we will be okay. Our athleticism will be greatly improved, and so will our Oline play. My opinion

I’m pretty sure the $20.5 million in revenue sharing per institution is to be spread across athletic programs..Any idea or estimate on what is being allocated towards the football program?
Additionally, think I read that Alabama’s NIL budget was $13 million in 2024 and it increased to $20 million in 2025 (attributed to a CNS quote). Any ideas what our NIL budget is for 2026? And when they talk about “the budget” for NIL, are these numbers specific to football or is this the Athletic Department budget?

We didn’t get many guys in the portal and besides Horton and Dewberry none of the other guys were anything but positional depth. So of the guys we got that were expected to help we’re pretty good. We have no idea how much money they had last year to spend the same this year. Complaining they missed makes no sense to me when they might not have any money. I missed out on buying a Lamborghini the other day. I never could afford it but I didn’t get it so I guess I missed out on it. In NFL you at least know how much money each team has and how much they spent because every contract is announced and the salary cap is there(granted the team doesn’t have to spend all it but most are close).

So you failed as a car buy. We need to run you off and get a better car buyer...

Evaluations take time on the under the radar guys. When you find them and offer, then the other programs notice that and evaluate then offer those guys more money and then you are right back to square one!

I remember a rival coach telling his staff that if Bama offered a player, then they were going to offer the player as well. We were being used then and we are still being used now...

wondering if the big money schools are using the $20.5m towards all the other sports and using the unlimited other (whatever its called) towards football?

This is such a narrow mindset. Just because someone doesn't say everything is rainbows and unicorns doesn't mean they're pessimistic. Disagreements are good and necessary for growth, on a message board and in society. Making accusations or painting in broad strokes because someone disagrees is not healthy or fair. This isn't directed at you specifically, but I have seen one side being called drunk, suicidal, and crazy, and those are the nicer accusations. It's okay to disagree without insulting.
