The kid already signed a contract with CLEMSON , was enrolled in Clemson, attending class and in the offseason training program. , then left for Ole Miss. why even have a transfer portal if the kid is already enrolled in school and leaves? Just leave anytime you want.

No; but their contracts have consequences. As should the player contracts.

Similar to the Xavier Lucas case with Wisconsin last year. Lucas signed an NIL agreement with Wisconsin. Miami reached out and convinced him to transfer. Wisconsin refused to enter him in the portal. Lucas then left school and enrolled at Miami the following semester. NCAA was unable to prevent his transfer because “unenrolled” at Wisconsin he was no longer “student athlete” and free to enroll anywhere.

Wisconsin is still moving forward with its lawsuit against Miami for tampering, Wisconsin is claiming that Miami knowingly interfered with their binding contract with Lucas. Last I read they were in the discovery phase still.

The idea that having a one time portal window will prevent transfers any other time isn’t necessarily true. If a player leaves school, leaving his scholarship behind, the NCAA is powerless to stop him, nor can they prevent him from enrolling elsewhere.

They have a much higher average rating per recruit. Based on that, Notre Dame has the best transfer class in the country, and it's really not even close. Hard to argue with it because their lowest ranked player is 109, and 2nd lowest is 60. It's hard to really evaluate these classes properly because different teams have different goals in the portal. Some teams are just looking to fill the gaps, and others are looking to build an entire team.

They're going to need all those stars for the meatgrinder that is their schedule this year.

Golding wouldn’t know a good linebacker if he bit him in the fanny. And if he had a good linebacker he’d turn him into a limp noodle in short order.

Tampering is the only thing they can really enforce. Even though the NIL was done by the Wisconsin collective the rules are still the same. It may be implied that he will play for Wisconsin but it’s not in the NIL agreement because that’s expressly against the NCAA NIL rules. That would be considered “pay for play”. They could enforce the contract and make him do the promotions it called for, but they can’t make him play for Wisconsin, make him go to school there, or keep him from going somewhere else.

Thanks. He sounded like he could provide a spark. Other than another high-impact WR, I wish we could land another experienced/proven RB to the mix.

I like the younger guys and think Crowell will be special, but it would be nice to have a RB that we know has produced at this level!
