Yeah, I think Alabama still has a lot of "figuring out" to do about how to best maximize the NIL world. But I'm certain they're not the only ones. There's only a handful of colleges that have "stupid money" and the rest are pretty much in the same pot. But, even the schools with access to "stupid money" can't guarantee that type of money will be donated every year.
The Yankees have stupid money and spending it doesnt win them the World Series every year.

Any of our backs that can get a tough yard in a 3rd and 1 situation will be an improvement to last year!

Kenneth Darby under Shula got that much on half of his rushes. The other half he was tackled for a 2 yard loss.

Kenneth Darby rushed for over 3,000 career yards at Alabama. Good enough for 5th place on the all time rushing yards right behind Bobby Humphrey.

One of the few bright spots of the Shula era…

Yeah Darby wasn't the problem on any of those teams. If he had been running behind some of the prime Stallings or Saban lines he would be remembered very differently. He was a good player.

Darby was only one of a handful we had who were good back then. Had some good FBs and a couple of decent wideouts that era but it was slim pickins in general. Probation was a factor. Major one

Blue font. It wasn't a cut on Darby, but on his offensive line. Dude got hit in the backfield more times than any Bama running back I can ever remember.
