2027 Recruiting: 2027 Recruiting Thread

Are we not recruiting HS kids? We have 6 recruits, 2 are QBs. What the heck?
What are you talking about? The historical trend of recruiting with this staff/new December signing period is it starts to heavily pick up in the summer.

We have 7 commits already and currently heavily favored for Tai Phillips (very underrated speedy rb), Mitchell Turner (stud top 5 DL we identified very early), Darius White (a long athletic DB Georgia heavily wants), Antwan Jackson (top 300 overall guy and top 5-10 edge in SE US with a ton of physical upside). We also look great for top 10 wide receiver like Osani Gayle, etc. and it goes on and on. Also the heavier numbers of visits just started last weekend.

Here is one to keep an eye on. LB Ayden Coleman who is currently unranked but at 6' 2" 215 lbs they have him a ILB prospect. He is the current teammate of 4* #3 DL Mitchell Turner.

Yes, but if you have been reading what DeBoer is saying we are not signing near as many as his first few classes and we are being choosy. Rodney Orr said on WJOX in Bham that he expects us to sign 12-15 players in this cycle. The reason is we have only 6 seniors and he believes we will not have a lot of attrition. Plus it makes room for transfer portal additions. As I previously said, we will not be in the top 5 this year due to those #'s but keep an eye on the average ranking we end up with.

Im bored, uninformed, and crazy so here is my first predicted signing day class:

Qb-Haven, Seaborn
Rb-Newkirk, Phillips
Te-Keegan, Faniel
wr-M.Thompson, Sabb, and K Taylor
OL-Berry, Camara

DL-Turner, Pauley
De/edge/wolf-K Green, A Jackson, Dalton
Lb-Simon, McNeil
Cv-Stepp, Butler
S/star-Junior T., Jordan Hicks
5* kicker, Luke Cody of Lumberton, Texas, has committed to the Crimson Tide, according to his Instagram account. Hopefully he'll be on that list.

CKD loves him some big TEs and WRs.

I believe we've only seen a glimpse of what our offense will look like when they get the OLs/RBs/WRs/QBs combination they desire. We saw a brief glimpse of this with TS this year before he got hurt.

Some of this begins THIS YEAR, IMO, but realistically, over the next 2-3 years I think our offensive capabilities start emerging when all of this comes together.

It all starts with QB play and we have some studs in the chamber that will make us very, very explosive with the rest of the parts they are adding!!! Ty was talented and looked great before he got hurt, but I think the QB play is about to blow up with the studs we've recruited and the outlook for QB play in the future is AMAZING!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I would agree we have tons of potential in the QB room but the QB needs good o-line play and good running back play. Not convinced yet those pieces are on this roster.

Yeah, basically installing a new offense along with the implementation/clarifying of NIL (pay for play) era, it is reasonable to expect the 3-4 year rebuild that we are seeing...

I know last year (and the previous 2 or 3 before) really did a # on us. Case in point, I've never been so hopeless as I was last year if we were in 3rd or 4th and short.

So your point is well-founded.

But, 2 things regarding OL and RB play: First, the law of averages suggests there's no way we could possibly be that bad or worse, but, secondly, the fact we made wholesale changes to coaching (OL) and personnel (at both OL and RB) makes me feel we'll be better off.

In addition, the fact the OL struggled was amplified with what was probably the least productive and talented RB room we've had since the Coach Mike Shula days!

Then, you throw into the equation that Ty got hurt the second half of the season* and we had trouble converting 3rd down even in the passing game and it was just a complete offensive breakdown and the year went on!!!

This is a glass half-full take, but I see us decidedly or maybe even dramatically improved across the entire offense this year!

* - Go back and watch some highlights of us post-FSU and up until Ty suddenly was throwing wounded ducks at times, and watch how explosive our offense was even with the OL and RB struggles!

New WR target 3* Majay Thompson. Watched his highlight video and it is ridiculous. Won't be a 3* for long and this guy is fast and explosive. Hope we land him.

His speed looks actually low-mid 4.4 when he plays, too. Not just getting those times at camps: he actually plays fast

The Locked on Bama guys said on the show this morning that we have backed off of him after his visit this weekend. I believe it was per BOL, that he will not be a part of this class. I think we wanted him as a scholarship only guy, but Georgia has made him a priority target, so he was probably looking for actual rev share money.

Jimmy Stein also said on the show that we have replaced him with Khalil Taylor on the target list. Khalil is set to visit June 19th, and actually may be the better player.
