Which comment is not accurate? That There were 38 third year sophomores, juniors and seniors? That Bama is dead last in the SEC in football recruiting by 247? Or that there is only one player committed outside of 3 skill positions or specialists?

-Brooks (already very good to elite)
-Meadows (excellent upside)

We still got Ryan Williams too. He may be best served sticking around another year, simply because he reclassified. You reclassify, and then you leave a year early, that's 2 years you're missing of development. I personally believe he's gonna have a monster season, and then he's not really gonna have a choice, but regardless, it's still a bit of an interesting decision. Regardless of where he's picked, I think he would be well served spending 4 seasons in college. Amobi Okoye comes to mind. He was a defensive tackle out of Louisville about 2 decades ago now, and he went to college early and was a top 10 pick at 19 years old. He showed some promise in the league early on, but fairly quickly fizzled out. Ryan will be slightly older at 20, but it's still a cautionary tale I would look at if I were him. It's not really the age so much as missing out on some crucial developmental years. The NFL is not gonna wait around for you, no matter high they drafted you.

I'm still holding out hope we'll get both Gayles and Sales, because I'm hearing that Gayles' decision will have zero effect on Sales, and we have the money for both, but if we don't get both, I don't really think it's that's big of a deal. We still got guys at receiver. You just wanna get at least one top receiver in this class. Gayles fits that mold.

Right in line with your recruiting posts.

At this point team retention and transfer portal > high school recruits. You can pay $350k for a known commodity with college football experience, or you can pay $350k for a kid who might work out.

It’s pretty simple: spend the money you have on what you know and guys who have proven they can compete at the college level.

A football program will not stay competitive letting upperclassman leave every year. A football program will not stay competitive with first and second year linemen playing. This staff will continue to send underperforming players packing and brining in guys they think can help the program. Those guy will not always be high school recruits.

I don’t care who said what about whose mama first.

Stop the, “I’m rubber, you’re glue,” back and forth. Confine the discussion to facts and their interpretation,, not personal characterization.

That is not a request.

So saying they only want to sign 12 to 15 because there are only 6 seniors is disingenuous on their part and making excuses on our part. We are flat out getting beat in recruiting.
This is the most inaccurate of your comments by far. Using disingenuous on your part is hilarious.
“Won’t be a big group this fall,” DeBoer said Tuesday at SEC spring meetings in Miramar Beach, Florida. “I think it will be much less than what we’ve had the last two seasons, but a lot of that is because we have retained well and brought in a group of transfers and don’t have many seniors.”

I'm seeing probably room to sign about 35- 40 in HS and transfer portal,
This is based on what you think which is not anything close to be what is being reported by DeBoer and staff so again inaccurate.

If we sign 15 with a talent average of about 92, I will be surprised, shocked even. But this class is not getting it done.
Making this comment shows how little or how closely you follow recruiting. You do realize signing day is in December. Sorry but doubting this staff regarding recruiting is really inaccurate.

To add to the roster count, I went through the roster personally, and here is what I found:

We have 26 total seniors out of the entire 105 man roster. 16 of those are players who will likely never see the field (aka scholarship only guys). Out of the 26 total seniors, that number reduces to 11 if the 5 for 5 rule is approved. Out of the 11, only 6 or 7 will receive significant playing time this fall.

I'd also like to add that the 12-15 number we're taking in this class likely only includes players that will command rev share and NIL $. I would assume that number will be around 17-18 when you factor in the scholarship-only players. So yeah, it's not really time to panic at all. I know we've lost some guys in the portal, but we haven't really lost any DeBoer guys. Like at all. We've lost 2 total players that this staff has evaluated and recruited: Noah Carter and Micah DeBose. I believe the staff seemed to think they missed on DeBose, so that's the reason they let him walk, and then Noah Carter felt like he was gonna be buried on the depth chart, so it's understandable he left. Everyone else has chosen to stay. That speaks volumes, in my opinion.

Gayles down to Bama, Stanford and Washington. We look good but if very serious about education he may choose Stanford.
